If you google "Janice Joplin billiards", you'll find a few other photos. I think they're all taken in someone's home (not a poolroom).Cool picture, hope you are doing well.
This is Janice yes?
Any idea where the picture was shot?
I looked at a few other photos. My suspicion is, this was a serious, yet kinda new hobby for her. I don't think she was much more than novice approaching intermediate speed. That said, none of this surprises me one bit. When I lived in NYC, it was not unusual to see celebrities playing pool and some of them are pretty good. When you're a performer (athlete, singer, actor), I would imagine there's a lot of downtime and pool is a very accessible activity. You can play it anywhere you go, any time of year, and it's not unusual for people to have a table in their homes. That loose grip and that bridge, solid, with finger flexibility...She flat out looks like a pool player. Her stance looks properly lined up, too with a fairly level cue for an amateur. I'd be surprised if she wasn't at least decent at the game.
That's cool, I was just uploading photos that I have saved over the years kind of to have a public place to put them outside of facebook and storage places.I looked at a few other photos.
