JB Cases has been holding back.

Huh?

How come you show up every time JB has an "issue"?

I'm sorry....i ask you "polite" and this is your react...it's look like you have an anger problem..

i don't think JB have any "issue" here.. a little bit maybe...but, i don't think he need me to defend him. And, I don't "Kiss any body ass" if that what you mean with "Show up every time JB has an "issue"? it's just coincidence that i jump to his thread. I don't need to explain this matter actually..

The cases protect just fine.

Professionally John is not very good. He would rather play here. There is nothing wrong with that. Same as my decision to never buy another case from him.

You can choose what you want....it's your right...at least every body know.. your problem with the person not the case

Save the "Made in Blah blah blah" for someone else.... I could care less.

I'm sorry....Please read my comment carefully..it's not for you...it's for ralf, because his statement was "I'm done..no more case from China" got it..sir..

Last thing...i don't make any post and write any comment to attack somebody. It's just a simple question..why don't you reply it with a simple answer.. People like you who make a simple thread became a flame war thread..

okay all right here.
If I go to Jesse James and say here is the Money , build what you want with that and that what I want and later you see him built the same with maybe a smaller Engine/Tire but from 5 Meters distance the same, you are pissed off or not:confused:

It is for sure a nice Case too and I loved mine so much, because I was the BEST Case ever.
Only a Email before where very fair before the Case was done, so I was shocked when I saw this Thread.
For Protect, yes the JB Cases are the BEST but no more one of this for me.
My Rusty Case looks similar to all his other, no Problem, but when REX doing my Case and he will doing near the same Case later(he is an other Artist) then I have a problem.
Just my 2 Cents, AMEN.

You're right Ralf. I think if I had let you know that someone else wanted a version of this case then you would have been ok with it. Especially if I showed you the differences.

Since I have disappointed you I will certainly extend the same offer to buy the case back from you for what you paid. I don't want unhappy customers.

Just let me know through email if you would like to sell it back to me.

Hello

But as you always remind the pool world - you do not need to make anyone happy but yourself. You have plenty of work and customers.
.

Yes, John...I would like for you to send me a PM for a case idea...Thanks Pauly..

okay all right here.
If I go to Jesse James and say here is the Money , build what you want with that

No, because it would be asking Jesse James to build what he wanted. If he come up with the design of the bike, I would not be shocked he made variations of it to make some money back on the time put into the design. And besides mine would have the bigger engine

Now if it were "My" design I sent to him to make, that would make it different to me...

Now I'm pissed off:mad::mad::mad:
it is a copy of my Case, only with other Flowers.
I have DONE, no more Cases from CHINA:frown::frown:
Ralf

While I can see the similarity in design, the cases do not look all that similar overall, and while I find both cases impressive so far as the tooling is concerned, I like the colour composition of yours much better (it's got that harmonious and, for lack of a better term, warmly antique kind of look, plus it's about orchids, can't beat that…). Not sure this is of any consolation, but there is no doubt to my mind which I'd pick given the choice.

Greetings from Switzerland, David.

both cases are very unique i salute you john for coming up with a very technical case.

anyway i think ralph have help inspired people and john too with his case.

maybe we can call it a collaboration case of ralph and jb cases

it's seem to me that you dissapointed with JB....would you mind tell me why your next order is from another cuecase maker. Are you dissapointed with your case? is the case not protect your cue enough or else...??

John... sorry, I mean Dedy,

I was disappointed with John. I paid for two cases in full. He promised delivery dates. He failed to meet each milestone. This was his "FTE" phase on AZ.

My next order will be from another maker because I am on Rusty Melton's list. I would also do myself a disservice if I did not buy a case direct from Jack Justis. It is not different than buying cues from different makers.

The cases protect just fine. However, I do not require excessive protection because I know how to take care of my things. Do you actually think other casemakers intend on harming cues because a lack of protection?

I hope these answers were direct enough for you.

Take care,

Dear Chris,

Dedy is not me. Will you and others please get that straight? If any of you want to bet super ****ing high I will post his address on here and you can have any number of other AZ'ers go find him and take a damn picture of him standing there with his ID.

Dear Dedy,

Thank you for standing up for me. Please stop as it only makes things worse. Also this isn't about protection. Chris, like others, did not get good service from me. Two things are required for successful business, good service and good product. And actually you can get by with good service and a lousy product. I have a good product and lousy service. People will forgo a good product if they don't feel good about the service. I understand that.

------------------------------------------------------------

For the rest of you,

I am retired. No more custom orders until I get this shop situated.

Leave me alone. My wife Karen Barton can answer your questions and talk to you about your orders. I didn't get in this business so that I could become a slave to everyone else's desires. That is what I have become.

I am really jealous of Rex Goulet and Marc Turcasso. They take an order and run with whatever suits their own ideas and the customer eats it up no matter what is served.

Eventually that is how it will be with me. If you want to place orders that are made to your specs then my shop will be happy to do it. Just don't talk to me. If I am needed then I will step in and take care of it. Otherwise I am out.

Frankly I am very hurt by Ralf's reaction here. When I do get around to making a case then I really pour my heart and energy into it to insure that every detail is right. You all don't see all the cases that I destroyed because some small detail wasn't right. You give me money but you have no idea what happens for that money. You don't see the things we do, the revisions, the ****-ups, the experiments, the arguments etc....

Some of you tell me that our prices are too low for what we deliver, some of you are assholes who tell me I am too expensive because I am in China, others want to call me a murderer and say I am destroying America.

I have had to fade hypocrites, and liars, and stalkers, and every sort of VILE and EVIL nasty comments about me, my family, my life choices etc....

And now I get shit because I dared to build another version of a case I designed?

I don't need this shit. I can make purses or any number of other mass-production items and sell them by the container load and take my self off of your grid.

In another month or so you will see JB Cases being revamped completely with a pretty strict method of ordering that takes me out of the process. At one point in my life I thought I would enjoy making custom cases. I don't enjoy it anymore.

I like making what pleases myself and if someone wants to buy that then great and if not then it stays in my private collection.

Lastly, in the future if a customer wants to have a particular design reserved for them for eternity then they will pay the eternity price. With so many people on the planet it is not fair to expect an artist to refuse others who want something similar unless that artist got life-changing money for the first piece.

Because THAT is what it all comes down to no matter who you are. If you want to indulge your fantasies and only make one of anything then you have to be living securely somehow where money doesn't matter. Otherwise you are hustling to stay ahead of the bills and you have to accept commissions as they come. So if you want a case that is exclusive to you only in every aspect then the price starts at $50,000 per case.

That said, IF you design the case. That is YOU do all the work and send me something that is ready to go then that is YOUR design and I won't do it for anyone else.

Corey sent me the designs already done for the space on the pockets and back and all we did is redraw them so that they were symmetrical and fit properly in the space.

I will never do this design for another person. It belongs to Corey and we only applied it to the case.

If someone else comes along and wants one then I will either find some other design to put in or we will draw a new design or I will ask them to submit a design that is sufficiently different.

Anyway, this is MY LAST POST on AZB. No matter what I personally am done with this forum. It's great and there are so many great people here but I personally am too thin-skinned to hang out here because I focus on the negative too much.

My wife Karen and our assistants will be posting under this account whenever there is a need. It will take a while for all of you to understand that but it will be understood that JB Cases is not John Barton any longer after a while. It's time for me to join the ranks of a lot of other people in this industry and stay out of the spotlight.

Thank you to everyone who has bought our cases and who has provided support through the dramas. Thank you to the opponents who had enough character to have private discussions with me and resolve our differences. To the liars and hypocrites I feel sorry for you and hope sincerely that someday you come to realization of how much your lies and hypocrisy have hurt me and others.

Lastly, again, to Ralf, I am really sorry that you were pissed off. That was never my intention. I thought it was a good thing to get an order based on your case and worked really hard to make a unique version of it for the customer. I feel very sad and depressed about it now when I think I should feel good. So, sorry I ****ed up your day. Mine is ****ed up now too so we're even.

Adios.

I have nothing to say to this...Except maybe good luck and I hope you find happiness somewhere.

John,

i have no dog in this fight and i am on nobody's side because its not my business.

I also can not say anything about Rex and his way of art.

But let me tell you this about Mark ... we have had a lot of conversations about designs and what I wanted when he where creating his amazing cases for me.
Sure he takes his time but he also sticks to his word ... otherwise he simply will not tell you a date when it will be done.

Just like chris always says ... do what you say and say what you do.

A MAN HAS TO STICK TO HIS WORD ...... if not, he has no honor .... that's what separates the boys from the men IMO

Again ... it is nothing personally against you ... just a general thing.

You know… the longer I am a member here the less I like the forum.
When you join you think these people have all the information and this is cool stuff.

Then you see these jerks that must be unemployed, who have nothing else to do but go around and piss on everyone’s thread. Like I need your opinion crammed down my throat!

I think there are those out there who do nothing more than just be cyber bullies. GET A LIFE!

It is too bad that John can’t just ignore these A-holes, but I also understand he probably feels he has to respond to defend his company.

The reality is that the customer is not always right.
I guess there are just some of you who have that “Entitlement” mentality and you just don’t get it. You want more and more and more… It never ends. It is never good enough, it costs too much, and delivery is too slow. You expect a mansion for the price of a trailer park.

So when did the term “Custom” mean that it was copy righted?

John,
I don’t blame you for walking away from AZB for a long time.
I hope you stay in business and still produce the cases that you love.
Please make as many copies of my case as you would like.
I consider this to be the highest form of flattery.
I do wish you the best.

All signs point to you abusing the multiple account rule for the third time. If you actually do what you say, next time we're in the same place I'll buy you a beer and talk about aiming systems.

this is simple

I order a case from jb a long time ago never to be heard from again a tooled case to be exact, cause i always wanted one. i said id pay cash, he wanna trade me the case for a 2x4 justis i no longer have plus cash. that justis has since been sold a while back to a friend on azb. i dont get why no email no call no pm no nothing. anyhow without saying anything due to poor service, i sold all flowers tribute cases i owned and decided to only give my business to one man and one man only and this explains it all

http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=233384

enjoy that work as its insane

Period.

I was thinking about this and I understand why Ralf is pissed, I understand JB's position too.

I'll share a story here to perhaps shed some light on this for Ralf and JB, perhaps its a waste of time, I'll let them decide.

This last year there was a vote on the cue of the year, I didnt realize that until recently(sometimes I'm not the sharpest guy). the cue is called the "Fatboar" Its a monster Black Boar that I had Tony make for me. Tikkler has one, and so does Eric(Shadowmoss) and one other guy I dont know his name. So there are actually 4 of them, each is about the same, however the "Fatboar" is the most complex of the 4 and has the most gold in it. When It was built I was aware of the others. Tony told me mine would be the last one, he said the reason for building more than one with the basic same design is because of the time it took to design it, he would have to charge double if he was just going to build a one-off cue that complex the time needed would cost about $100K+ for one cue. Since he built 4-each of them unique, but based on the same design he could build them for a lot less. It sure dont bother me that there are other cues like the 'Fatboar", and I'm sure the other guys dont mind either. Now if tony built 50 more of them then I'd be pissed. But he didnt 4th was the last one.

The old saying goes something like this: "Copying is the most sincere form of flattery".

JB should have told Ralf that he was going to make other cases similar to his but not a copy when he delivered the first one, I knew it was only a mater of time until lots more people would want a case like Ralf's. Having the first one that is the basis of all the other cases of that style is cool. Its not reasonable to expect JB to never build a case with that basic platform again. I'm not picking sides here-Ralf has the first one, and the best one of the 2 IMO, as long as the future cases are lesser than ralfs case then thats a cool compermise, and makes Ralfs case that much more important. Ralf has the first, biggest and baddest of that base design. IMO thats better than the only one in the world. what are the odds of the 2 cases being in the same room atthe same time anyways? Its not a contest. And when it was a contest in the case of my cue I didnt even notice it. Its not that important. What is important is to enjoy what we have while were alive.

You basically said what I have been saying, if a case or cue maker designs a case/cue for you they more than likely will make some based on the same design to make up for the time they put into designing it.
But as I stated before, if it were your own design you sent in, then that would be different...
