I get malware/spyware warnings when trying to get on their site. If i allow the site to load all i get is text and no pics. Anyone else have any such issues??

why would you allow a site to load if it was giving virus alerts. you dont care if your computer is infected.
why take a chance.

Malwarebytes on my computer blocks the website saying that it has detected a trojan. I just now sent the following email to sales@jbcases.com...

"Hi,

Letting you know that when some of us from the AZB forum have tried to go to your website today our computer antivirus programs are blocking it because they are detecting a malware trojan when your home page loads.

My advice as a computer security professional would be to have your webmaster run a full virus scan on your website and especially take a close look at your home page scripts."

My advice to you on this forum would be to stay away from their website for a few days. If you have visited it recently and it came up in your browser I would strongly recommend that you update your antivirus and run a full/deep scan.

don't be surprised if you don't receive a reply right away. JB and his entire family tested positive recently, and he has posted that things may be a bit slower there for the immediate future.

Hoping JB and his family are well soon...

Ok, thanks for the head's up. Just sent John a text on it.

The reason you only get text when you green light the website is that your AV will only let you proceed if it first disables scripts on the home page. Scripts are legitimately used to activate buttons and other website features and they run as the web page loads in your browser.

Scripts are also illegitimately used to try to install malware on the computer of the person that visits an infected website.

fine for me...
Do you have antivirus installed and is it up to date? If so, it sounds like your AV does not have a web protection component.

It is of course possible to get a false positive if a website was recently changed and there is some sort of non-standard programming added but it is rare that multiple brands of AV would flag something benign.

Can you try this link and see if you still get a warning? It's a secure link, should be no problem. I'm running windows 10 with a added commercial anti-virus and it's clean.

That's the same address that gets blocked by the paid version of Malwarebytes on my Win10 laptop, same computer that I used to configure and order my JB case last year. A second Win10 device running the same version of Malwarebytes blocks it with the same message. The free version of Avira (Antivir) on another Win10 computer does not block it but it does not have the paid/optional web protection component installed.

It is of course possible that it is a false positive and most any antivirus with web protection allows a website "that you know is safe..." to be whitelisted but the rub is I don't know that it is safe without doing a full inspection on the page source and even that could be inconclusive. When it comes to cyber security I advise my clients to err on the side of caution. If there really is a trojan trying to install from that web page it might or might not succeed depending on your version of Windows, if it is fully patched and up to date and so on. If it is a trojan and it does manage to install, nothing good will come of it at minimum and bad sh*t might happen.

@garczar - what brand of antivirus are you running?

Malwarebytes and Avira free versions. Scanned/cleaned my comp. and still get the 'site blocked' from Malwarebytes. Not gonna worry about it. If i need a case i'll just call. Thanx guys

Is your Avira blocking it also? If you do call you could point them to my email.

I have to run out for a while. I have their page source loaded up on my Linux laptop and will wade through it later but the chance of me making a solid determination are slim without access to their website but the best bet is for their webmaster to check it out.

If only one antivirus is blocking it that increases the likelihood that it is a false positive. I did have an issue with MB crying wolf on a website in the last year but at the moment I don't remember what the issue was.

Just took a quick stroll through the jbcases.com home page code and I didn't see any scripts listed that looked suspicious. It is possible that someone hacked one of the scripts but since I don't have access I can't say for sure. It would not be the preferred approach of a hacker to do that because it would likely break some part of the website functionality and thus be discovered. When websites are hacked to distribute malware their success depends on avoiding detection.

So at this point, I'm pretty confident that it is a false positive from Malwarebytes unless someone reports getting blocked with a different brand of antivirus.

I turned off MB and it loads and looks completely fine. No issues. I looked thru case selection with no problems.

Blocked for me also. Win 10 and all latest updates done this morning, Also have Malwarebytes free, but I used to be able to go to it before.
