Hi Guys,

Jean Balukus (sorry about the spelling). What year did she retire in? I just got a copy of her and Ewa Mataya in the semi and finals, back in 1987. I watched the first half Ewa won 9 to 4 (I think). Not only did Jean not get much of a break, Ewa shot very well, even had at least two break and runs during this match.

Jean didn't look like she was shooting very well. They said that at this point she has won the last 50 matches she had played. It wouldn't surprise me if she was just under estimating Ewa's skills.

I'll let you guys know how the rest turns out in a day or two.

What a great player Jean balukas was when she "hung 'em up". If she would have stayed in the tournament scene, it would be her name and not Allison Fisher's that comes to mind when discussing the world's best woman player. Not to take anything away from Allison, what with all her snooker AND 9-ball titles, but in POOL, Jean Balukas was the best that ever played the game. Just my opinion.
