I had the great pleasure of meeting Jean and his son (also Jean) at a BCA Trade Show about 2004. He published five or so books on billiards and his son published a beautiful book on the history of the game with many excellent illustrations. I think the son still runs a billiard supply store in Paris.

Jean played me a game of 3 cushion so that he did not beat me as badly as he would have otherwise.;)
