Did anyone catch Jeanette Lee interviewing athletes at the pre show of the ESPY awards? I recorded it and caught a little of it through commercial breaks from something else I was watching. I noticed that she must've had the questions in her hand 'cause she kept looking at what I'm guessing were specific questions to ask the athletes. Other than not sounding "natural", IMO, when asking the questions, she looked good!

I only watched a few minutes here and there to see how she did and I thought she did very well for her first time. Some folks say they find her normal voice a little annoying. I think she got a little carried away trying to please the ESPN coaches resulting in the very odd sounding voice from her.

It definitely didn't look like she harmed her chances for a broadcasting future. Hope this opens a few doors for her. Oh, and I hope her "new" voice goes away, whatever the reason was!

I think she may have been a little nervous. She was definitely a little bit stiff, but, for the first time out, she did a good job. This may open some doors and lead to a new career, when her playing days are done.

I agree with the others that she wasn't as natural as she could've been. All-in-all, though, she did a pretty good job!

She may have had other things on her mind...

Last night at Gene Nagy's wake, Jeanette mentioned she fulfilled "minimal contractual obligations" for the ESPY's and caught the red-eye to New York in order to spend as much time with Gene as possible before his passing.
