The pool world lost a good friend. His nickname was Birdman, and he loved pool as much as anything. He was good friends with Jimmy Matz, and used to bring him to his house to practice. Jeff was captain of his pool team in the Blue Mountain Pool League for several years, the first year he was captain we won the championship. The team consisted of Birdman, myself, Frank Coster, Mad Dog (Bruce Sauerwein), Bob Minnich and his son Bucky. He was one of the referees at the World Straight Pool Tournament in 1986 in Philadelphia. Jeff was liked by everyone who made his acquaintance. It is a real loss that he died so young, He will be missed. Thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.
