It's difficult to make such generalizations. We're really not talking about a lot of money here for either group. There are only a handful of people in both camps that have made ANYTHING and the vast majority are making little to none.

I agree 100%. I just see more women with more sponsorship (however little it might be, it all helps) than the men. I've recently seen women that aren't even in the top 20 of the WPBA get sponsorship over guys that are/were in the top 5 of the UPA. It's just a recent observation that I've had. As many here know, I've been out of the pool world for quite a few yrs until very recently so damn near everything is new to me..... Even the UPA is new to me! :rolleyes:

It depends on what you would label as "sponsorship". Predator has been known to give out cues to many members of both the WPBA and the UPA (they give NO money). Fury cues featured a men's amateur player in their national ad campaign. I have yet to hear of a woman doing something comparable on the amateur level.

The top five of the UPA isn't a fair comparison to the top 20 of the WPBA. The UPA simply isn't the only show in town so you're not looking at the true top five players. Two of the top five players in the world don't even play in the UPA.

These are all shoot-from-the-hip comments that you've made that represent a relatively insignificant amount of money in players' lives. You may have taken more notice in sponsored women but there really isn't enough evidence to make any sort of conclusions. Seriously, I'm looking at these "sponsors" for the WPBA's top 20 right now and I can tell you first-hand, many of them having little to do with actual currency.

I wasn't talking about cues or product, I was talking about actual dollars. $500 entry fee's being paid for is a huge help when you factor in travel exspenses, hotel, & food. I would think that's a fairly significant amount as $500 adds up.

I wave the white flag.... This isn't what this thread is about.

I would say the sport is better off with Jeanette Lee definitely. she's been around longer,she has more experience, and overall she is just a better player. no dis-respect meant toward Jennifer, but for me Jeanette is even better looking. she may have partiality because I spent time with her in Rochester New York a couple years back. she is just alot of fun!

I dont think scott meant it that way. I think he meant by "show" as how fake she seems to be on or off tv. I have never met her so I have no opinion on her personality.

Now I know I'm an OldHasBeen BUT - What THE HELL is "Phone Sex"?
My wife & I have been trying to figure it out. We have every type of phone - Cell, 2 way intercom, 4 line office, Cordless hand sets, Etc.
WE'VE TRIED EVERYTHING WE CAN THINK OF AND NOTHING, SO FAR!
Don't get me wrong, it's been a lot of fun just trying but just when we think something is going to happen - The damn thing rings.

Oh well, back to trying - wish me luck.

You have to also consider attitude. Now I know not all the women have a great attitude and not all of the men have a bad attitude....BUT, over all the women's attitude is much more professional, IMO. How many WPBA matches were forfieted in the middle of the match? How many WPBA players screamed at audience members, cursed out a cue ball, denied and obvious foul, and etc...? There are great guys out there that do get theirs, I would probably bet the same amount of women players (maybe 10??) as the men get the kind of sponsorship you are refering to.
