Why is it signed Mike Johnson?

Because Mike Johnson is the cue maker, I have known Mike for a long time he is of Swedish decent, And Johnson is the Americanized version of his name At least I am prety sure thats what he said. Most imigrants that came her around the turn of the century were given new spellings for there names for the simple reason the language that they spoke most americans couldnt quite understand them, so imigration workers spelled them however they thought they sounded!! Did you know that if you where Italian and came through Ellis Island and had no documentation they used to take a piece of chalk and would write WOP on there backs and thats where the term or slang for Italian came from but what it meant was , With out papers!!

You are correct in the way they spelled immigrants names way back.
My people came from Russia and we wound up with the last name of Tucker! Go figure that. So if a guy named Johnson made the cue why is it a Jensen? I'm still confused.

So by your logic

Ernie Gutierrez can't possibly sign a Gina cue. And tony Sciannella can't possibly sign a black boar:D.

i am believing he thought the cuemakers last name was actually Jensen.. so when the name mike johnson appeared on the cue, i guess it raised some questions..

Mike Johnson is the cuemaker and his cues are called Jensen Cues..

Yea, I think he is wondering why they are not called Johnson cues. Anybody know?

Nice cue btw!:)

Mike´s ancestors were Swedish immigrants that made custom furniture. When they arrived in the United States, like many other immigrants, their name was changed. Mike named his cues after the original family name, "Jensen," in honor of the woodworking tradition they started, which he was about to carry on.

Jensen

If I remember mu history right, Mr Johnson's family business was cabinet making. When they got to the United States, they changed their name to Jensen so they would sound more "American". They later changed the last name back to Johnson and Mike just kept "Jensen" as the name of his cues.
