Jenson cue ???

Cue has been verified by Mike Johnson as one of his entry level cues from the early 90's. 7/23/11

I picked this cue off ebay, was told it was a Mike Johnson Cue.
and was told the signature would be under the wrap. I have had the cue refinished and rewrapped, black with brown specs by Paul Allers here locally. I did not find any signature.
The cue is for sale. The butt is 15.5 oz 3/8-10 pin, nice ringwork and merry widow style Purpleheart cue. The shaft is a whopping 4.23oz and a full 13mm.
lbm ferrule with talisman medium tip. Paul says this is a european taper, very stiff, and would make a nice 3cushion player. 19 1/2" balance point.
if interested I would like $325 shipped for the cue. Cue is 57 3/4" long.

I not sure the cue is a Jensen, but it is a nice looking cue.:)

Thoughts

I have 2 Daytons and both have the 3/8 radial pin. I will ask him to look at it.

Maybe you can get lawman888 to give his opinion as to why he was "100% sure it is a jensen".

Of course, I'm sure a LOA from Mike Johnson would be the best way to go. Good Luck and I hope you find it to be a Jensen, it would help to renew my faith a little.
 
My 2 cents

Jensen more likely than not. Mike culls through alot of shafts and the heavy shaft you have is something Mike likes to build with. He built cues like that with a 18 pin years ago.

If you were not happy with the cue I wish you would have emailed me and we could have worked something out instead of finding out much later.You paid alot less than I did and I would have been glad to have glad to have refunded your money.Sorry to not have posted this earlier but I have been without power since first reply.

Well heres why "I am a 100% sure" lol....Trolls???? but anyway....The cue was sold by me on consignment from a guy I KNOW and have known for 20 years. He purchased the cue FROM Mike at the US open in the 90's. I sold it for like $300 bucks I think. If Mike says it aint his cue I would glady give back the $300 bucks, but I doubt that will happen......Since Mike made it. I dont think my buddy would lie when selling a cue for that little money, plus it looks dead on it.:thumbup:

I was 25 feet away when he bought the cue from Mike....If its not real then Mike pulled a Kaiser Soze move on a $300 dollar cue LOL.

I dont know the history of KC cues like some pundits BUT I know I have seen this cue in my customers possession for over 10-15 years. I believe that "outdates" KC cues.

Wasn't intending to bust your balls. I quoted you so the OP could find out why you believed it was a Jensen, that's all!!

I don't know what your problem is, maybe your a little grouchy from getting your ass handed to you on the links. :confused: I guess the name calling comes from typing after you drank more than you can handle. Yes...They are one in the same.

Great Cue Builder...You Can't go wrong with one of his cues...
