Has anyone tried this break/jump cue? I think I'm getting one for Christmas so just wanted some opinions.

I have tried one. It broke real solid. Never jumped with it. The shaft felt real thick though. I have only heard good things about them. I know that someone who owns one can give you better imput, but my limited experience with them have been good.

Do a search on Break cues...
There are probably 50 different topics about them...

The Stinger is one of my favorite J/B cues, and I have had many nice ones...
Also consider a Rick Howard Mace J/B... They are top notch as well

They break very consistent with excellent ball control. They jump with the very best of them. I own a pair of them. The best way to get one is to call Jerry himself and have a chat with him. He is a very nice man and is super knowledgeable on the subject of breaking(he is a BCA master instructor). He has helped design some of his competitors cues. He has a list of pro's who endorse his cues that is a mile long. And to top it off if you deal with Jerry personally he will generally give you an excellent deal. Just my two cents...

I just got one from username "BVAL" on this forum a week ago. The construction looks great. (I was going to buy a thumper, but found the used but very good condition stinger instead.)

I am in Houston on the west side of town (shoot at Slick Willies at 20900 Katy Frwy @ West Green) - if you want to try it.

As a breaking cue, it should be excellent.

I find the phenolic tip to be quite hard, and difficult to impart much english to the cue ball. It hits fine with very close to center english. I tried to shoot some racks with it.

I have not jumped with it much, but like the regular cue shape end to it - rather than a flared out jump cue butt like some out there.

It's an excellent break cue, even at medium stroke speed. Jump's way out of this world. Jerry Powers stands strong on his cues for sure, great buy IMO.

Stinger cues are really worth the $$$.... Great break cue, even if you break (slowly) the speed multiplies.... The after sales is even better, my shaft broke when someone broke with my cue (hook break), jerry replaced it............. He is a great guy.

I've owned one for like 2 years now. They are a great B/J cue well worth the money. The thing i like the most is that u have 3 jump cues in one. Full length, regular size jump cue, and u can switch the small handle and the longer handle for a medium length jump cue!
