Jerry Rauenzahn, Full Splice Tasmanian Mertyl and Tulip cue. I am considering selling this cue. It tears me up to do so but I have hit a brick wall with some health issues. I will not give this cue away it is at a Premium. I will consider $1600.00 dollars for it. It is a half joint stainless. I have the cue at the job site so I can not give you the exact weight about 19.9 oz,58 inches, moori med balance point etc. I go back to work wed for two weeks and will be bringing the cue home with me than and can give exact specs at that time. This cue is lightly played as it is a recent addition received in April. Why a Premium it is the only " Tasmanian Mertyl Wood "cue Jerry has made and to my knowledge no one else has built one though I am sure somewhere out there is another one. Jerry was very impressed with the Mertyl wood saying it was identical to Brazilian Rosewood in characteristics. This is a Full Splice cue and Jerry's full splices are among the best out there. The $1600.00 is about what I have into the cue with wood shipping etc. I realize that the market is weak at the moment but I am not interested in trades or offers lower than my request. You can have Jerry build this cue for maybe a bit less than this if you can find the wood.If you take pleasure in wood as I do you will appreciate this cue and Jerry is going to be disappointed in me if this sells. I have what may sound like a VERY lame question, but is the cue finished? The pictures make it look as though the cue has been sanded to perfection, but has no finish on it.

all the big makers,szamboti,Motey, Schick, Burt Schrager!! He makes all parts and is one of (the best communicationers on progress!! Photo's , his Willie Hoppe designs are flawless. I've seen replaced venners,that were undetectable! I have a sweet cue myself with 1400. in it (worth every Penny This is a ridiculousness price , sorry you need to sell- all azers be assured it is a Pool playing experience with Jerry's Cues!! trying to assure others, my rep tells it too! mark

The ring on the butt is Ivory, one ferrul is Ivory and the other is a material Jerry suggested I try, I don't remember what it is but he would know. It hurts letting this cue go as it is the only cue I know of made of this wood. Jerry said the characteristics of this wood was idential to Brazialian Rosewood and he was impressed.
As for the workmanship of Jerry he was building cues when Gus was building them. He hasn't been building full splice that long but his bottom points are points not squares. I have some medical issues with both my lady and I and on top of that I have a Hercek being built and a Southwest that I am on the list for in Nov, (although I suspect it will be a bit later).
I have been on Joels list for a long time and Southwest list longer I don't think they make a better cue than Jerry but they are harder to get although Jerry isn't a spring chicken any more, no offense meant towards Jerry. Ill loose this and his cues will sky rocket. I know I won't be able to replace this cue as I can't find the wood. Jerry wanted some more and my source doesn't have any and I have been unable to find more of this quality. I do have some other items up for sale hoping I can keep this cue but money is tight and I am not giving any thing away.
I have been fortunate to have had cues commissioned for me by Gus, Barry, Schick, Perry Weston, Kikel, Mike Bender, Dennis Searing, Eddie Farris, Gina,Southwest,John Bender, maybe one or two more and half of them were made from woods I provided. I just wish I still had them. I am not a novice at this I am just not an expert. I shot with my Gus for 19 yrs and it was as straight the day I sold it as i bought it and my father thought I was crazy to give $1250.00 for a cue. I only have two cues at the momant the Jerry R and one that I commissioned John Bender to build for me. The John Bender is the older of the two and the cue I have played the most with. It was also commissioned by me from material I supplied. I can't get the money for the John Bender that I can the Jerry R. I have also shot with the John Bender more and to be frank of all the cues I mentioned above if I had to play a money game the John bender would be given serious consideration to play that game with. For anyone thinking of a good playing cue that isnt fancy as John isn't or wasn't doing inlays you should consider John Bender. Sorry I rattled on here. But as to the JR cue you won't be disappointed.

In my opinion the cue has a medium stiff hit with a nice solid sound and good feed back and feel. The shafts of my John Bender have a bit whippier feel to them. I dont know if that helps as hit is subjective. I like a cue that provides feed back and feel and this cue provides that.
