I saw his work on here..and after speaking with him....sent him some money (which was very reasonable)and had some joint protectors commissioned....He was such a nice guy through the whole thing....sent me updated pictures....kept me informed....worked with me on my design...I can tell you now...He is a True Craftsman,,,,what he has sent me pictures of....the finished product he is shipping me is just a thing of beauty....People like this that are not only wonderful craftsman...but are good people as well are what we need more of....He is a tremendous asset to this forum and in general...Thanks Jim

Fantastic

They look great

I second your sentiments. I've also worked with Jim and he is a real gentleman to work with.
Love the OB designs!

Enjoy

Dave

Jim Baxter makes great pens also.
I bought some for Christmas presents.

You have a great looking set of protectors there. Jim does make great looking joint protectors as well as pens. I bought a pen from him some time back and it was really nice.

Cue pix please

Love to see the cue those are for!

JPs, pens and YES even cues.

Regards
Dave

It is tulipwood, holly, ebony, and the wood is in the forearm is a spaulted maple

What a match

Looks like Mr. Baxter captured that ring work beautifully.

They'll look great together.

Everytime I get a package, even after I've seen pictures; I can't wait to open it.

They do not look like OB shafts, did I mistake the intent of your design; or just not in your pix?

Guess those are the two original Jacoby shafts. Jim could likely make matching ring work for your other shafts.

I had some extra set of ring works made so I could have my local builder add them to partial 314 shafts. A little OCD, but I know I'm crazy.

Enjoy

I'm happy to add to this blatant plug. Here's the set Jim made for my Josey.

Yes i am plugging Jim...but not at his request....I just felt that when people are nice and they do great work....they deserve recognition

how many times have you seen a thread bashing someone vs saying thanks
100:1 ??
yes the good guys need promotion....
i have probaby bought close to 1k in joint protectors from jim...
always satisfied and TERRIFIC communication

Never had any JP's made by Jim but have seen many. Had one of his cues and it was a very nice 'player'.

Woodsmith, craftsman for sure...

-Kat,

Jim is a stand-up guy and a fantastic human being. I have one of his cues, and I'm also honored to consider him a friend. You can't go wrong with Jim.

waiting for new ones for my scruggs hopefully will be here in the next few days. He does great work. I've gotten them for a past cue and he's the first name I think about when wanting custom jp's at a fair price.

Jim is definitely a great guy. I had the pleasure of finding
out first hand when I asked him to make a set for a Lambros.
Every thing was top notch.....communication, efficiency, the
quality of work, etc. That was the first set he made for an
Ultra Joint and he nailed it. He was also a true gentlemen on
the phone and you can usually get a good read on a person
when having a conversation, as opposed to messaging or
what not. Kudos to Jim all the way around.
