I have just acquired a Custom Jim Ingram Cue. Does anyone ever heard of jim ingram cues. Its traditional style, 4 point 4 veners with MOP inlays in the but. Whap price they go for?
Any info would be helpful.
Thanks
Chris

I had an Ingram about 6 years ago. Ivory ovals in the butt and 8 hi low ebony points in BEM with blue and black veneers. Striking cue and was one of the stiffist hitting cues I have ever owned. From what I understand, Jim has mentored most of the cuemakers in Oklahoma and surrounding states and continues to make a great cue. He is kind of unknown, but has been at it for years.

Jim makes a great cue and Scott is right in that he is not well known outside the midwest. I've posted it before, but here is my Ingram, which was made from a Joel Hercek blank and was originally owned by David Matlock. Very "old school" design and plays nice. This cue has a brushed lacquer finish!

Well, I finally figured out who he was and I called him. Im very glad I did. He is very nice, and was very informative as to my cue. He said my cue was made from a Szamboti blank. I was very shocked to here that. But I found out a lot about the cue. I really appreciate the AZB'ers help.
Thanks Guys.

From the intial note, it sounds like you probably picked the cue up pretty cheap. The Szamboti points will probably add $1000 plus to the value. I would strongly suggest you attempt to get a letter from Jim Ingram attesting to that. It will add provenance to the cue for the future.

Post some pics when you get a chance. I'm sure I'm not the only one that would like to see it.

Jim said that he would send me a letter yesterday. When I get home i will post some pics up for you guys to see. Right now im stuck at work. But I will get some pics up for you guys. And really, thanks again for all the help.

Nice pickup, Chris. I'm very interested to see pictures of the cue. Congratulations.

Is that a shorty blank or did Jim cut off the full splice and add a handle?

According to Joel, it is a shorty blank. He and Burton made those and sold them to cue makers in the early 90's, in addition to full-splice blanks they were making for themselves.

Ingram Cue

I grew up with Jim, and would like to buy another of his cues. will you consider a trade on the Ingram for a Joss West?
