Jim Rempe is selling his personal table. Collectors Item Indeed <<<===={{{{{{

Since this thread is in the main forum and not in the for sale section, I feel its allowed to comment on price.

Why in the world would anyone pay 10K for this table? What have recent examples of this model table sold for? You can get a brand new Diamond for half that amount. We know used GC's go for about 1K to 2K all day long, and used Diamonds go for about 3k or so.

I really don't think this table being owned by Jim Rempe would increase its value in the slightest. I am not discounting how great a player Rempe was at all. I simply don't think a Champion's personal table adds value. Wiley tried to sell the table Earl ran the 11 racks on. I'd bet its still in his house. I would say the same thing if someone found the table Efren slept under when he was a boy. That table also would not be worth 10k.

IMO:)

You are correct. This thread is a joke and should be in the "for sale" forum. This table is not even worth $4000.

Damn Ducky,

They told me you were comatose and I'd be safe posting:o. I guess "they" were wrong again.

When are you going into hospice care, if I may ask?

Jim Rempe? Sorry but it's like trying to sell Pete Sampras racket now. And I'm being generous comparing him to Sampras. He's more like a Roddick.

"Former World No. 1 Andy Roddick has been nominated for the highest honor in the sport of tennis: induction into the International Tennis Hall of Fame. The American is on the ballot in the Recent Player Category for induction in the Hall of Fame Class of 2017."

so what ??? You mean the comparison is accurate, right? I mean in the sense of Roddick to tennis is like Rempe to pool. Well if you want to argue that Roddick is more important to tennis than Rempe to pool then I would not disagree lol. I'm not sure if you get the point I wanted to make here

Many players get inducted into sports HOF's that do not belong. Only the MLB HOF counts for anything and some of the guys they have in there wouldn't make it based on todays criteria.

Roddick never won anything but one U.S. Open in 2003. He most certainly does not belong.

I'd trade the Tennis HOF for a ménage à trois with Gabriela Sabatini and Martina Hingis. Now THAT would be accomplishing something:D.

Dear 'homeliest guy on the planet' breath!...The chances of that ever happening, would be only slightly better, than you making any tennis or pool HOF!..(estimated odds..450,000,000,000,000 to 1) :sorry:

PS..May I suggest you set your 'manage a trois' sights a little lower..Like maybe having one with Cocobola Cowboy and John Barton!..Lay off the booze!..

Personally I think the price is too low. I would have asked 20K.

Many moons ago when the oilfield was ginning, this would have already been on a truck on its way to south Texas.

JR was the first true pro player that I had dealings with, and I held him in the highest regard.

The table would have been situated in a place of prominence....maybe along side CJ's million dollar table.

But being semi-retired, and going into the billiard biz has turned a former zillionaire into a hundredaire.

Good luck with the sale, I hope it finds a nice home.
