Anyone seen his straight pool videos? I am wanting to learn the intricacies of the game more. Have any of you seen his videos? If so what did you think?

i've watched his how to run a rack and how to run a hundred balls videos - they were both excellent and teach you a lot of detail and intricacies about the game.

I have both of them and have watched them many times over. Probably the best instructional 14.1 videos available. Also, look for the 2000 US Open 14.1 tapes from Accu-Stats. He does a player review with Pat Fleming about his match with George Sans Souci. Also a very informative tape. You may also want to get John Schmidt's DVD of him running 245 balls. That is great as well.

I've had Jim's videos since they came out years ago, and you can't go wrong. My favorite is "How to run 100 balls". For some players his style might be a little "tense" for lack of a better word. I try to buy instructional from players that fit my playing style. Jim's style is "Grinder" like in golf, no chances, very few low % shots, old school patterns, and firm center ball positions. I can relate more to maybe Sigel, or The Miz being more fast n loose, but there's something about Rempe's pace of play and shot selection I like, and makes the game look simple!

Both tapes are excellent. For 14.1 instructional you should also take a look at Sigel's Perfect Pool and Run out series, although he also covers 9 ball and eight ball in those tapes. Accustats has many great matches with great commentary. Player reviews, West/Zugaln, Sigel/Zuglan

This video is the best thing I have ever seen.
With Jim doing the commentary, you come as close as possible to being inside his head while he is playing. He explains the options and why he chooses one shot over another. Sometimes, his commentary doesn't agree with the shot he takes, which proves there are different ways to run a rack. He also shows that he changes his mind many times in the course of running a rack, which goes against the misconception that a player of his caliber knows how he is going to run the entire table.
This is a must have for anyone interested in 14.1.

erik...IMO if you want to learn 14.1 here are some GREAT vids...

Sigel/Zuglan....Sigel goes 150 with textbook perfect play.

Rempe...How to run 100 balls

Anything with Dallas West playing..he is so smooth, and rarely makes a wrong play.

Also anything with the Miz playing...there was never a more silky smooth stroke than his.
