Jimbo's Jambo

Just found this hiding in a folder on my computer. Lots of these folks are posters here, although RSB was all the rage just a few years ago ;)

My memory is not all that great anymore so allow me to apologize to anyone whose name I no longer recall. Anyway, here are the names to match with the faces as best as I recall.

Perhaps someone else would care to put a name to the faces of those folks whose name I can't recall.

I'm the guy on the far right, second row leaning over the table (Jerry Ravelo aka Secaucus Fats on AZ). Going from right to left are Jimbo, he's the guy with the red shirt 'stache and goatee. Next is Thierry Layani is in the white shirt with the black embroidery. Next is Joe Van (with the RSB skull T). Next to him is Steve Ellis aka Catscradle. The guy holding the beer is Dave (Hamster) Malone.

Third row extreme left is Oscar Perez, to his right in the black T with hat is Sherm. (I talked Oscar into buying a cue from Sherm, and he loves that cue.)

Front row holding the cue is Roger Orsulak, to the right is Mike Janis and to Mike's right (I may be wrong here) is George.

Top row from right to left: Barry Cameron, Alex (?), Beverly (Bevinco), next to her is Fred.

In Post #2 by Mike Janis the gent with the gray hair and white polo is Larry (no not Fast Larry) (Poltergeist). Just to the right of Larry is Lou Figueroa.

I'll always remember that get together. Great hospitality from Jimbo and Barry, good food, friendly people, and friendly competition. Sherm was the birthday boy.

You'd have a hard time finding a nicer bunch of guys and gals. Man, I'd love to do it again!

BTW, Jimbo comes off as a rough guy some time but in real life he is one of the nicest guys you'd want to know.

Oh, and Mike Page was there too! But he was busy taking the pics with Roger's camera.

Here's everyone as I remember it.

Sorry if I got the names mixed up. Larry isn't the only slow one ;)

From a faceless name on the Internet, thank you so much for this 8x10 glossy colour photograph with the circles and arrows on the FRONT. I recall the lead-ups to these events on rsb, and wishing I lived a bit closer than 3000 miles away. Putting faces to these names that I have been reading for so many years has made my day. Thanks to all who've helped out on this one. I'd rep ya all but am way to lazy for that ;)

UMM, it was a ring game format tournament and I won. I also took 2nd in the Hold'em tournament to Sherm.

In the ring game at the final table we pretty much chopped up the money but there was an extra hundred or so to win it.

... and I made it to the final table, that never happened before. The only time I make it to a final table and there's no picture to record it.

Pretty good memory in my opinion. Is that Sherm next to Oscar?
And behind Jim next to Larry is a guy that is a college professor from CT, but damned if I can remember his name.

This apparently is another RSB get together. (It was hanging in one of my closets collecting dust. I didn't even know I had it until I installed Picassa on my computer yesterday. Someone must have emailed it to me years ago. There are many of the same faces. Also I don't know where this RSB get together was held. Just thought I would offer up the photographs for Auld Lang Syne.

Best Regads,

These pics are from the same get together. I'm in the first picture -> your file name has me listed as Oscar ;)

Oh, Barry's there, too.

That was a great time!

Jimbo throws a nice party!

Maybe he could do the Super Expo VF party this year. Heard from a reliable source that Jeeves won't be doing it this March.

Smorg was being facetious, he was an old-timey RSBer. I think he is trying disassociated from it. :) Aren't ya Smorg.
Steve <== Misses the contentious Smorg sometimes.
