Joe Tucker Questions

I'm trying to look at some of Joe's products but his website is screwed up or something b/c all it shows are his videos.

I own Racking Secrets 1 but I haven't watched it in a long time but I know during the video he advertises some mechanism used to practice your break. It's a big flexible bow that you setup on the table and break into. What is this thing called? Where can I find it on the internet? Do they make one that fits on a bar box?

Also, has anyone watched Racking Secrets II? Is it worth the money? I know it focuses more on 10 ball but I never play 10-ball. Would it still be helpful for 9-ball?

Thanks in advance!

Break Rack (although I think they spell it funny), Shane said he uses that thing a lot, or used to at least. There is only one version but it may fit on a 7 footer.

http://breakrak.com sells the breaking tool and it will fit 7, 8 or 9 ft. I have not seen Joes Racking secrets II so I can not help there. I like all Joe's products and he is a great guy..

I should add that the cueball does not quite react the same way as with a real rack. When I messed around with it during a few fund raisers and during junior league when we were using that for helping the kids, the cueball was tougher to squat than with a regular rack.

That may have been mental though, but seems it rebounds off the device with more bounce than a regular rack. I probably broke 20 times with it and only a few times was able to get the cueball in the center within a diamond of the side pockets, I can do that about 50% of the time with a regular rack with no collisions.

Thanks guys. I think I'm going to buy one unless I see some bad reviews. How is Ceebee involved? Does he sell them used or discounted or something?

Hello -

Ceebee - that would be Charlie - a super nice guy and is the inventor and builder :-)

Get ahold of him through the forum and I'll bet he will make you one on the spot and send it out asap - you will love it. Make sure to ask for and get the book he wrote as well on all things breaking - you won't be disappointed I can assure you! I'd suggest the Pro model so it can be used on all 7', 8' and 9' tables for all of your friends that will try their best to talk you out of it for a week at a time - if you wanted to be a nice guy that is :-) Or keep it hidden as a secret weapon and see if they comment on how your breaks have really changed lately.

I own a break rak and I can say that it is the best tool for getting control of your break. I disagree with this post. The cueball seems to behave very similar to how it does when you hit an actual rack. If you hit the rack square with pure middle ball (really the tiniest bit of top) you will get the cue to pop and stop.

A few hours with this and you'll see how great this is. Go for it.

I respectfully disagree with your disagreement:) The tool can not emulate an actual rack of balls. Therefore, the results will be different. I heard a pro and a semi pro say it's not the same! (BUT, it is a great tool to practice with!)
Some people have not read what is in parentheses! Before you comment, please read what's in parentheses! What I wrote in parentheses is important!

well...liakos, we are disappointed that you feel the way you do.

We have 3000 plus customers that feel "hitting the Cue Ball correctly, into the BreakRAK gives a very similar reaction to the Cue Ball's response.

I would have said EXACT, but that requires good balls in the rack, a good rack & a perfect strike on the Cue Ball.

Again, we are disappointed that you didn't experience what others have, or you would already be a customer.

Maybe next time....

While I'm quite certain no one will disagree with the statements that a tool cannot emulate an actual rack of balls and the results will be different, the questions I asked myself before calling Charlie for a BreakRAK were what the tool/device could help me accomplish and what value would it have in doing so....

The simple fact that I could work on hitting the apex ball dead center and getting immediate feedback as to the effectiveness of being dead-center with the cue ball time after time without racking balls was eye opening to say the least.

Take any training cue ball and see how accurately you are hitting that cue ball position you think you are. Look at the chalk mark the tip impact leaves. Various break speeds can be tried while maintaining that cue ball control or English experiments and when used with a break speed app, the results will give immediate feedback that you can change right away.

Try that 50 times without a BreakRAK and the value increases I think :-)

IMO anyway. Plus your friends will buy you lots of lunches when you let them borrow it.

Let me know if you want me to delete my last sentence in the post I made!

I'm starting to understand why people are leaving this forum!

This wasn't your question but I'd like to give a plug anyway for his $11 book "guaranteed improvement". I have a few of his products and this one is jam up, if you actually use it:)

My wife bought me a Break Rak for Xmas last year. I think it is great. You can adjust "rak" tension to get different QB feedback. I find my Break Rak to give me very realistic feedback compared to hitting an actual rack. The best thing about it is that after spending a total of about an hour with it over a few days it made tremendous improvements in my break, especially cue ball control. Whenever I am not sticking the QB in the center of the table I start practicing with my Break Rak 10-15 minutes a day again to get back to great breaks. I am not getting paid for my comments and we also paid regular retail price for it. I just happen to think that the Break Rak is one of the few training aides that performs better than advertised.
