Yeah, and I am not the one to come here crying AND making the threat to rig the next one as you have. You're a spiteful crybaby and this just shows it. Its the only reason why you would even say something to the guy. Man up for once in your life.

The sort of thing I would do says the man of 1000 faces (alias'). Yeah ok, you clueless nutjob.

JV

When one runs out of something useful to say and starts with the name calling, He has lost the battle.

But the difference is Jack didn't do it. See here you say YOU are going to do it, Jack didn't do it. He is Jacks supporter, thats why a Justis won. I voted for the other Justis, so shows what I know.

It is no big deal, if it happened to me.

JV

And who nominated the other Justis?

Oh, that would be me.

And who nominated the other Justis?

Oh, that would be me.

So, it was you, big deal. 191 people voted, how many people were even paying attention? Well John , it would have been equally as humorous to see you do that poll and leave out a Justis.

YOu know, to make yourself feel better, you should run a JB Case of the year, post all the cases you made, let people vote on their favorite JB case, this way you're guaranteed a winner. We'll make you a little trophy, we'll have a presentation at SBE, we'll have throw rose petals on the ground in the Sterling booth, whatever makes you happy. You can give a speech, put it on the JB channel of youtube. This way you're not slighted, your ego is restored, and you can pat yourself on the back and live happily ever after.

JV

Sounds like sour grapes to me. ""You can not get ahead trying to get even.""

See John, you're wrong again about the series of events. You need to reread what you posted and what I posted and when it occured. Did I say that yes, AFTER you went off about your cases which was supposedly because I slighted your cases in my first post, which if you can read it it slowly.. doesn't even broach the subject. Which is what you said. Now I am telling you, YOU are the one typing with hatred, because you cannot even bring yourself to study the facts when you type a retort. So yes, everything evolved because you either misread the first post OR you saw it was me and with psychopathic anger, just assumed it was a slight and you decided to fire away. But really what got you, was my praise of Jack, wasn't it?

BTW its not defamation of character if its the truth, now is it. There are volumes that can be printed to show this very behavoir, we both know it. As far as getting rid of you, what fun would that be. You're no thorn in my side. But the playing field should be level and the forum should know that you have been afforded multiple alias' many times with little if any reprecussions.

JV

Yes Joe, the truth is an absolute defense against defamation. Unfortunately for you the truth is not on your side. But that discussion is academic because no matter what you say about me here I am not going to take you to court and Dave Wilson will not censure you so you have complete freedom to lie and name call all you wish to.

You saying the playing field should be level when you have the unlimited ability to call me names and lie about me and my business is funny.

Yes, your praise of Jack is what "got" me. Because you made very inaccurate statements that while possibly meant as sincere praise for Jack Justis' work in fact were derogatory to everyone else's.

I don't think that Phil and Carl Eastwood agree that Justis is King of the Mountain, I am reasonably sure that Joe and Jill Whitten don't consider Justis to be the industry "standard."

I don't think that Marc Turcasso appreciates you saying that a cookie cutter-style case is better than his which is in fact what being King of the Mountain means. I am sure all the case makers who do true custom don't appreciate you saying that Jack is the best "custom" maker living. I certainly don't appreciate it when it's you, a self-proclaimed expert, who says it.

However I am pretty sure that you only wrote it to take a swipe at me. If so then well played because it forced me to answer you with actual examples of custom work.

In any event you are distracting from the topic and that is Wedge's voter drive.

I only took what was nominated.

I have thread already for JB Case of the year. Right here:
JB Cases 2012 Yearbook

There are about 50 cases there - all winners already.

The compliments are enough of an ego boost to keep me happy.

I'm thinking if there hadn't been any name-calling, this thread would be a whole lot shorter and less emotional.

Actually, if there hadn't been any public calling-out of private crap, this wouldn't even be a thread.

Good point. On reflection maybe so. I could have held my tongue and not let Wedge know that I was unhappy with how he went about it.

But what's done is done. He got his votes and the title and that's that. I imagine that somewhere down the line he will be able to get that premium price for the case based on the title and if so then great for him.

For myself I was going to make two leather signs, one for the case maker and one for the case owner to commemorate the event. They were going to be a surprise.

But given Wedge's actions and Jack's comments I decided not to do them.

Like I said, the fun was taken out of it. :-(

Bummer.

made in china

so mr joe...

what do u have to say about the "pro-lite" interior being made in china?? no replies to that right??? so its not all full americano like u call it...

get a life...

Given their comments, I'm sure they could give a sh*t about not getting your surprise signs.

Well I am sure Wedge would have been happy to get his had he not known I knew about his electioneering.

Jack probably would have thrown it away in front of me regardless.

Anyway, next year I will do something else that will be absolutely free of any of this nonsense.

Again, your opinion and the truth is piled up on my side like the debris at Jersey shore after Sandy. No lying involved, unless its you. You made excuses for your posts and those were lies, you constantly cannot maintain truth or focus when "debating" on the forum. Fact is I didn't slight your cases in my first post, as you have stated, and you acted like an ignoramous and used it as your soap box.

John, I guarantee none of those people you named are going to look at my statements and feel slighted. Jack has been doing his case for longer than most of those people have been making their own cases. Again, its an opinion, and I don't care if your own insecurities do not allow you process that without bias, that is not my problem.

Matter of factly, I have never seen any of those people mentioned EVER come into a thread that praises another casemaker and wreck it, as you have done on MULTIPLE occasions.

I want you to show me where I said I was an expert on cases? I have used them for 30 years to protect cues. Am I an expert? Yes, on what I need from the case. I am an expert on what I like, based off of many points of various definition. Dude, its just my opinion. Since this is a forum and forums are alive with opinions, deal with it.

Dude, get over yourself, when I want to swipe at you, you'll know it.

Dude,
I know where his interiors are made, in fact maybe his leather is raised in a farm in the Ukraine, who cares. I gave you a pass on your first post of nonsense.

There is nothing to say about that... you cannot help where raw materials come from. Are your cases less Indonesian or Italian of whereever you're from because the sperm of the bull that artificially inseminated your cow that provided the leather for your case, came from Chile? The final assembly area is where the product gets its origin, in this case (pun intended).

Its not why this discussion is taking place, neither is patriotism the root of the discussion as you mentioned in your first post.

If you are involved in it, there will be plenty of nonsense. But keep blaming everyone else for the drama that constantly surrounds you.

Again this thread isn't about praising Jack's work.

It's about Wedge's voter drive and how I feel about it.

I know it's your opinion Joe. Do I need to go back and quote where you tried to say it's "fact"?

Because you did, you said it is undisputed. Well even that isn't true as I and others disputed it.

I am totally fine Joe. You had no reason to be here other than to snipe at me and justify Wedge's poor behavior.

Both of which you did on cue and predictably. You also managed to get in the mandatory China-knock. So all in all you get a gold star for effort. The content is still not good enough to win the debate but you keep trying and one day you will learn how to use actual facts to make your points.

Here is another pretty case for you that I could have submitted to the poll.

Guess who owns it?

well i guess u ant getting the point either.....lets get to the basics....john barton lives in china....he produces cases out of china....even if he moved to the usa and made cases in the usa...u would still be up his ass...why???? why??? thats what i dont understand....
the man makes great cases...he is the most recognised world-wide.....n why are u saying these bad things about him??? why?

If you are involved in it, there will be plenty of nonsense. But keep blaming everyone else for the drama that constantly surrounds you.

I blame myself. I like it. It helps though that I am right. Yes, I could have kept my mouth shut and not let Wedge know that I know about his voter drive. But I guess deep down I needed to get it off my chest.

Sorry to have bothered you. Thank you for the chastising.

Yes in fact you can help where the raw materials come from. Jack could certainly buy tubes from a USA based extrude and have the interiors made in the USA as well. The embroidered bags that he delivers in could be made in the USA as well.

He makes it a point to tell everyone that his leather is USA steerhide but fails to disclose that the actual case part, the interior is Chinese. I don't understand why that is.

And this does bring up another point. You always harp about the fact that I have workers. Well why don't you include the workers who make Jack's interiors as part of his team as well? You never say that he employs children or exploits the Chinese worker even though he is buying fully made interiors and bags from China. Why is that Joe?

I have no skin in this game at all, as I will never be able to afford a custom case from either incredible case maker. I was just curious, are you insinuating that he (mr. Justis) couldn't have his interior made in the good ol USA or use leather from here? I would say it is important, but when foreign cars are more American built than American cars are I no longer know what it is to be an American product.
