Can anyone tell me if Mr Madden is still building cues as I would love to have a custom player made by him after seeing some of his exceptional work.

I could be mistaken, but last I knew (only a year or two ago) he was still making cues in MT. I have his information at home and will try to send it to you later.
 
Jack refinished and made a new shaft for a cue of mine a few years ago, and I could not have been happier with work in terms of quality, price, and time to completion. I think it's a little easier to get a hold of him by phone than email.
 
Don't dawdle. If there is a question about how long he will be making cues, get it done before he stops. I have only played with one of his cues and it was great.
 
They don't come any better than John Madden Cues.
