John Morra

Yeah the big games have almost dried up, unless Manny Paquiao is around.
When Shane comes to town everyone shows up too. He takes on everyone! A good player can still get a game, the backers are out there!
There are lots of 5-10,000p games though with foreign players from all over taking on filipinos. I can always get action there for Banks or even One Pocket. I play the third echelon players, who are still pretty good.

A lot more players are interested in one-pocket now. In 2007 only a handful knew the rules. But they only bet cheap in these games, and it is hard to handicap.

These days any guy who holds a cue is a big challenge for me, so I stick to sidebets.

Word is that end of June will be a gamblers month, with Manny coming home from his Boxing match in Las Vegas. After a short vacation he will most likely be in heavy action for weeks there. Might be worth a trip just to watch, he puts maybe 500 000 - 1 000 000 pesos in action each night on many different players

Oh look he's back again with a thread about how he's blowing money and being a whale.

Did I miss the apology thread where you apologized for the way you acted when everyone was a broke, jealous, idiot
And you were thru with pool and this forum?

Chop'em up Jay!!! I really need to go there. All i'm doing in LA is blowing way to much $$$ on food and not playing pool. I'm finished with Vegas I need to re-organize my life. Paint my Black Boar black and buy a one way ticket.

John Morra has now been playing Alcano, Orcullo and is supposed to play Efren one of the next days. He's basically been playing nonstop for two weeks, small, medium and big sets. Plays all the time.

Been lots of action the last days, mostly because me, Morra and a norwegian pokerplayer have put lots of money into play. There have been several 50000-100000 pesos sets, and many more for 15000-20000. The three of us are leaving Sunday and Monday, so guess the action will dry up again a little bit then.

Today Alcano and Orcullo played rotation for 50 000 race to 10, with Dennis winning 10-8. Yesterday Morra beat Orcullo in banks, hill hill and last ball. Rematch today, longer race. Went hill hill again, and last two balls, with Dennis on top this time.

I backed half of Morra's bank-action today, and at the same time I played a guy that had Morra as sponsor. That's how it works in Philippines. Everyone seems to have a little piece of the action on every table :-)

Morra beat Alcano in 10-ball yesterday, but I don't remember the handicap there.

Lolong have lost two big matches in a row now, total of 250 000 pesos. Giving 4-5-6-7-8-9-10 in handicap, no call shots and win if moneyball drops on break. He won atleast 250 000 before that giving the 5 and out. They will maybe play again tomorrow, but not with the 4 but maybe with some games on the wire.

Wonderkid Johann Chua (19?) is rumoured to play Efren and Alcano even the next two days, in Quezon City. He beat Lolong today, 17-9 in 10-ball, giving games on the wire plus the 8. The last 10 games was free-wheeling, playing perfect pool.

It's been way more exciting the last days, but it's soon time to go home. Will miss it, as usual.

Nice to hear about Lolong's action. I got in some action with him and Jek Jek in 2009 & 2010. Did not came out on top... However, it was only for some cheap games. And it sure did not hurt my game.

Have u ever seen Lolong playing one-handed? Nice touch, I would call that...

Cant wait for my next trip to Manila. Have fun!

At One Side now. A few matches going but everyone is interested in what's going on in Quezon City. Will 19 year old Chua beat Efren in 10-ball, even, for 35k pesos? Updates so far says 11-10 to champ race to 15

Thanks for the updates, Roy!

Efren won 15-13.

Right now Lolong plays Orcullo in rotation, race 11, spot 30-90. 7-6 to Lolong. Morra is playing some cheap one-pocket with Ed, giving 10-7 and is down 2-1 to 4. Jek Jek is also in action, but opponent unknown for me.

Good crowd at One Side today, but I'm tired so heading for the hotel

Our friend Lolong lost a match with me as backer. I didn't see the end of the match, but I guess you can understand the sad face he must have had when he texted this:

"Roy the fish my friend im very sory lolong no lucky. tomorow i play jhon mora again. sory score 15-12 no lucky lolong. luv u"

Priceless :-)

I like how he calls you "Roy the fish" -- classic!
