Does anyone know what equipment John uses?

playing cue, I believe, is a Bobby Hunter.
What type of shaft? tip? tip size?

What is his Break/jump cue? tip? mm?

What type of case?
What glove does he use?

Bobby Hunter cue.
Cuemaker Steve Bailey hand tapered the shafts for JS as far as I know.

John used to play with a 12.5mm tip last I heard.

I would have suspected

that all the glove wearing players out there would have been interested in the brand of glove that John wears ... lol

And is John the first Us Open Champion to win with a glove?

No, I remember Earl Strickland won his 5th US Open title wearing a glove and that was won of his best performances that i've witnessed. This year Earl definately had some problems.

Speaking of John's equipment, I believe Inside Pool mag published it before but I don't have that particar issue. It tells you about his cue, weight, size etc. Anyone care to look? I think it's from 2-3 years ago issue?

Thank's
Steve

Nice case ... What exactly is that in the diamond in the upper pocket, is it just tooled or a special inset? Is it a 3 x 6 Pro-Lite?

Black Ostrich in the upper pocket. This is a 2 x 4 ProLite.

Great case Jack! You might have to make one with an interchangeable lid. I think John will have many other nicknames by the time his career comes to an end!

jack, your cases are just the nices ive ever seen! ive told u many times how much i like your cases, but i'll say it again. now i just need to win a us open too, so i have something to put on the lid :D solly 'no wins' silly sally sounds stupid :p

My Cup Runneth Over...

Hey there, Mr. Jack Jardis, you're cue cases are the best I've ever seen. When I get enough scratch together, I'll be sending you an email.

Sincerely, (from the Desk of the One-Eyed Jack)

It had looked to me from several 9-ball videos I had seen of John that he was using a Mace (Rick Howard) break/jump cue. And from the sound of things it probably had some sort of phenolic tip. I'm assuming the shaft diameters probably hovered around 13 mm, although I've no way of determining that, just assuming.

The only jump shots I'd ever seen John take was with his Hunter. However, in a 10-ball ring game video, he stated that it depends on the shot.
