Just wondered if anyone knows what happened to these fine players. Shuput won a Miller Lite World Series of pool event in the eighties. Brundt was a fine player also. Saw him run 5 or 6 racks and out against Sigel in the finals of a tournament in Melbourne, FL at the Golden Cue.

There is a name I haven't heard in years. I believe at the time John was from Nebraska. I returned to pool after a few years off and played in that tournament. During my days there John and I gambled a few times. John really had the speed on those tables down and was the guy to beat.

For those that don't know you had to win the state championship to play in Vegas. Although that is what I did there must have been some buy-ins as well. It was held at Cesars Palace with the likes of some champion players. I'll never remember them all so anyone who does chime in. David Howard, Ronnie Allen, I saw Cole Dickson and a host of others. A strong player from the chicago area ended up putting me out, forgot his name. If you won this tournament you had to play, which John did.

I've never heard of the other fellow but you have to wonder what happened to some players. Maybe they quit playing it's not unusual, I did.

still in nebraska

i saw john a few years ago in iowa. he was watching a tournament at a casino. i had heard stories about him.we got to talking and he had an acident were he pinched a nerve in his neck or back. his left side is "TINGLY" and he hadnt played for several years. from what i was told (not by him) he was the man to beat in the eightys. it was a great talk, he still lives in omaha.
:D

Thats to bad things like that happen. At least he still enjoys the game, the accident couldn't take that away.

Blast from the past. I steered John around Cleveland area in the late 70's. He was driving an El Dorado & it got stolen & wrecked along with his cues. I remember him matching up with Kim Dalton but can't remember who won. I used to joke with him because he moved his whole arm when he stroked & he jokingly said its because he 's from Nebraska & was copying a pump handle. Hell of a nine ball player & played good for the$$$.
