I just got done with the school with johnny and earl here in town. It was awesome. The exhibition was last night and it was vintage earl. He put on a show with his stroke shots and when he missed a few he managed to play it off really well with a few jokes. He joked about the equipment and the conditions. (Ill give him that though sometimes with the humidity in south Texas its like playing in quicksand.) he did say that it would've been better on a Brunswick And Ive got a Brunswick so that was cool.

Then johnny got up to play to local shortstop. Shane waltrip. and.... johnny lost. Thats right everybody our own local guy beat johnny 6-3. Playing 9 ball even. Johnny missed some routine outs and Shane capitalized then broke and ran a few of his own. Man if I was physic I could've made a bundle bettin on Shane. Oh well though.
Mark did say it was the first time johnny had lost one of his challenge matches since they've been doing this so that was cool

As for the school It was awesome too. Johnny taught fundamentals( which i need) and earl critiqued our bridges and other things. What I'm gonna take away from this though is that johnny made a comment on how I had a good stroke and he wouldn't change it  and then when i was working with earl he said I seemed like a pretty good player and asked how long id been playing:thumbup: Hearing that coming from 2 of the greats was really awesome.

If anyone has a chance to attend one of their schools i highly recommend it.It'll pay for itself 100 times over.

thanks for helping put this show on mark. and glad to meet ya.

Southpaw, thank you for the nice review. It was nice to meet you in person as it has been meeting other AZers on our travels.

Did you

get their autographs? Being around two great players like Earl and Johnny just had to be fun!

yep, got an autographed ball, and 2 billiards digest's with them on the cover signed by them. And of course my black instroke case by both of them in silver sharpie; it looks awesome. and yeah just hanging around those two was worth the price. :D

and ive still got room on the case for Efren.

A sad day in Mudville. :frown: Mark called me Friday to inform me that the El Paso stop was cancelled for lack of sign ups. Bummer, Guess I,ll latch on next time to the closest venue. I'm glad you guys enjoyed the school.
