When playing on a Valley 7' or 8' table, take two balls and check the openings of all the pockets before you start to play. Valley rails have a 1/16" or more play in the rail bolt holes and you can slid one corner set as far as you can to the pocket making it tight and the other end will be wider. If this is done at the foot of the table it's good to know the bigger pocket when breaking, especially in 9 ball. Also it's good to know what pockets are larger when having a choice what pocket to cut into.

I use to take the bolts out of some of the local bar tables, take them home and take the diameter down a bit so you could change the pocket sizes even more. Johnnyt
