Joint conversion

Hi, sorry if this has been asked before.
I'm using Joss JSM-50 with 5/16x14 joint pin.
Lately I just test hit my friend's Lucasi with Radial Pin n wood to wood insert. I like the feel a lot.
The thing is I love my Josses model more than anything else, buying a custom cue is an alternative but it's too long (time) n too expensive for me. Another thing is ordering a custom cue with the same model as my Joss is seems silly to me.
So I come up with an idea to change the joint pin to Radial pin n changing the stainless steel insert to wooden insert.

Is this possible? Pls share your opinion, thx.

Fairly easily done. Remove pin, plug, re-drill and tap for new pin. Same for insert. Bore out insert, plug and drill and tap.

I see.. thx for the input.
Is it a good idea? I mean is this gonna change the hit better or worse?

This is like saying "I really like the ride of the Cadilac. If I put the same kind of tires on my Toyota, will it ride the same"? There is a lot that goes into the "HIT" of a Q. The Q you played with, has a different tip, ferrule material, taper & yes the joint. Changing ONE will not noticeably change the hit, to match the other Q. Just my opinion, but if you like the hit of the Chinese Q, then you should buy one & sell yours. I think you will be happier...OR NOT...JER

RHN and Blackcreek have made some good points.
My thoughts:
1. doing the conversion is straightforward, but there
is NO guarentee you will like the hit as much as you
think you like the China cue - you should really
do a search on 'hit' - this has been discussed ad infinitum
here and elsewhere - short version: it's too subjective to predict.

2. It sounds like you love the look/mystique of the Joss
but the 'feel' of the Luc - perhaps you should try to find the
cheapest Luc with the joint style you prefer.
You may very well be able to buy one for the same dollars
it would cost to convert the Joss - and, if I had to guess,
the likelyhood of a similar hit is higher - or not.
