Joint/pin on break cue

I see a lot of break cues have the 3/8 x 10 pin or even a radial pin.
Is there any special reasoning/benefit for this?
Is there any benefit of either of these over different pin?
Or are that just easier for a cue builder to make?
If taboo, just send me a pm and I will keep it quite :)

I know at the end of the day the pin/joint just connect the butt to shaft.
I am just curious on why these are so popular.

I use 3/8-10 pins because when I reach in the drawer for a joint pin, one of them comes out in my hand. So I install it.

LOL
