Hi , i would like to ask if someone knows the diference between 5/16 x 14 and 3/8x8. Thank you ...Is cocobolo and ebony a good combination of wood?
What material i must choose instead of ivory for the ferule?I ve just ordered a cue and i have some questions..Please help..

Well 5/16-14 is a 5/16" diameter pin with 14 tpi (threads per inch) 3/8-8 is 3/8" with 8 threads per inch. Usually the 5/16-14 threads into an insert into the shaft. The 3/8-8 is usually threaded directly into the wood.

There are plenty of materials to be used instead of ivory for the ferrule....and ebony and cocobolo are great woods to be used, it all depends on how it is used. They tend to run heavy but can be cored out to make lighter so you shouldn't have to worry about that.

Again these are questions you can ask the cue maker as long as it is not a production cue.
