Alright looking through the gallery I have seen some very nice cues. Some have very nice joint protectors with matching rings. So IM curious, if you were to order a, lets say $2500 cue with matching protectors, would it matter to you if the rings were in line with the rings on the cue when threaded together?

Hell, I just bought a new cue with joint protectors and I HATE the things.

Someone told me they are good for protecting your cue if you happen to drop it. The way I figure is that you are more likely to drop the cue or shaft as you are removing the cursed things.

IMHO, joint protectors are probably the stupidist thing EVER invented for billiards products.

Ageed they are annoying at times, till you drop your cheap soft case and the pin bends, lol. I just cant see why someone would spend the extra money to have jp's with matching rings and not have the rings line up. Its just a pet peeve of mine I guess.

jps just get dropped (usually in not well lit places), and if you have a protective case (like an Instroke) they're not really needed anyway. If you have to have your rings line up (usually on a more expensive cue) you probably shouldn't be using a "cheap soft case" to carry it around to begin with!!

You need to be less clumbsy I guess. Dont drop your cue. I was just giving a reason to use them. I dont have a cheap soft case or cue, lol.
Some people use them and some dont, but thats not what the poll is. I guess you dont really need chalk either if you use a center ball hit. Lol jk

I'm not clumsy, but have had to help others look for their jps that they set on a table or somewhere that rolled off got kicked a few times and ended up 100 ft away from where they were playing....no jps for me, thank you.

You shouldve use your option to go to the next thread wise guy.

They are pretty important if you have a unilock joint. But I guess there are not that many $2500 cues with a unilock.
Gosh, I wonder why?? I guess nobody wants there $2500 cue getting stuck together.:smash:
Yes in the situation you described I would hope everything lined up.

you should add an option titled -

"I could'nt care less"

I would select that one if it was an option.
