I am interested in the opinions of some of the experts on this forum. I own a Keith Josey cue and I love it . It hits great and Mr. Josey was a pleasure to work and talk with. I noticed a forum on comparing Mottey and Scuggs. I would like the opinions of the forum readers on how Keith compares to these cuemakers mentioned. I would love the opinion of Mike Webb and Blud because both of the gentleman are expert cuemakers. Take care guys and keep the great threads coming.

I know that Josey was/is sponsoring Luis Viera and that he loves the cue. I too believe that once one pays over $750 for a cue a lot depends on the appeal the cue has to the buyer. You are now buying a work of art and paying for the craftsmanship that the cuemaker can put in it. If you enjoy it that is all that matters, no matter what a person's level of play is.
Afterall, you are not really buying it as an investment for resale.

I have had the pleasure of speaking with Mr. Josey a couple of times. He is a true gentleman. He is on the board of the ACA for good reasons. His work is clean, inventive, straight and balanced. He has a great reputation and deserves it.
I have a Josey Sneakypete(same as Louis's except Bakote & inlays on points) that I bought to break with. I broke the ferrule the first week, so I replaced it, cut a 14"x13mm taper, and a Hercules M tip. This cue plays so well now that I find myself using it as much as my Southwest's.
Keith is a great guy and his cues rank up with the best in playability. Good Choice

I have a Scruggs and a Josey. The are both excellent cues. My Scruggs is a 4 point Hoppe style. The work is perfect and it plays great, a very lively cue. The Josey is a little thicker through the middle and it plays a little stiffer.
I do not think that Scruggs is second to any other cue maker. He is one of the greats and deservedly. I think Josey has a little more flair, a little more style. But the Scruggs is a players cue.

I corresponded with Mr. Josey a couple years ago about having a cue made. His cues were beyond my price range at the time, so I had to pass. I felt bad, because he was a gentleman and impressed me as someone who makes it a point to exceed expectations. One of these days I'll get around to ordering one...along with a Scruggs and a Tascarella and a Ted Harris and a...
I personally do not play pool, Bob does but does not own a Josey cue, so I cannot comment on how his cues play.
Although, I can comment on Keith and Sherry Josey as being very reputable business people and standing behind their product. They are some of the nicest people in the industry and really support billiards.

Christmas is just around the corner. Sounds like you have a ready made shopping list.
I was going to buy a new cue but yesterday I went to "look" at a brand new 2003 Caddy with all the special discounts and, well, at least now I have a nice carrying case for my old cue.
