Josey Or Arnot?

A wise choice my friend. Spending a little more and getting what you really want to begin with will actually save you money and be better than wondering if you're making the right choice.

be sure to share some pics when you get it.

Thanks for the support even know some Josey fan boys are ganna get on my case :P

But heres the thing I spoke with Jon last night when shooting some, and we had a great discussion on what im looking for so needless to say ill be stoping by his shop soon being hes 10 mins away :P

I also like the fact that the sneaky wont be a conversion it will be brand new beautiful costom

Just as a teaser Im thinking ok Highly figured Amboyna burl and birdseye :P Or crazy red bloodwood with birdseye, and the simplest would be coccabola and birdseye :D This is most likey going to be simple sneaky style

No hassles from me.....and I'm no fan boy...LoL! It's always a bonus when you have a decent cue maker that lives nearby....easier to dial in a cue when you can test it right at the cue maker's shop. Congrats on the new cue!!

Just be sure to show off your new cue in the Gallery when you get it!!! We're all voyeurs when it comes to cue eye candy....LoL!!!;)

In spite of the Josey boys ripping on Arnot, even if never used. I will never sell my Arnot, Curly Pete players special. Looks, plays and feels great. Never was one to hop on the wagon.

Huh? Who was ripping on Arnot? I must've missed it, because I sure don't remember reading anything negative concerning Arnot cues in this thread.

Its final Ive made my choice im going to have Jon Spitz make me one of his very special cues, What I mean by Very Special... Well you know what they say about opinions  Personally I wouldent know about any other of these cues being I have never hit with one. But its safe to say im not going to risk it when I know Jon makes a truly magical player.... Of course IMO.;)

I think you made the right choice going with a Spitz cue. Not because I think they are good cues (I've never hit with one or even seen one that I recall), but because you think it is a great cue and has the best hit out of any cue you have ever used.

It seems like you may not have been playing pool for all that many years or at least haven't had the chance to try a bunch of different kinds of cues for whatever reason. My suggestion would be that you start trying out every cue you can because just when you think you have found the best thing ever, you will end up finding another cue down the road that you like twice as much and is even better for you. This is even more true as you are still learning and improving.

Ask every person you can to hit a few balls with their cue, the guy at the table next to you, your opponent in the tournament, other people at your pool hall, everybody. Hit a good variety of different kinds of shots with each one too to properly test it out. You may love the way a cue hits one type of shot but not certain others. Maybe it will hit great for hard center ball stop shots for example, or force follow shots, but you won't like the feedback it gives you when you crank up the low right english to go three rails around the table for shape, or maybe it isn't quite right on some of the softer finesse shots and so on. Always ask what kind of tip is on the cue as well, and after a while you will start to be able to discern your cue and tip preferences and how differing tips feel on the same cue. Eventually you will develop enough experience that when you hit with a cue you will be able to tell to a large extent what part of the feel of the hit is due to the cue, and what part is due to the tip. You will be able to hit with a cue that you may not perfectly like the hit of, but knowing that if it had whatever "X" tip on it instead you would probably love it.

Also, you may find that your tastes change over time as your stroke and game matures and improves. So don't be afraid to continue to try out other cues when you can long down the road, because what may be the perfect cue for your game of today, may not be the perfect cue for your game two years from now. Once you have played for a few years and your improvement levels out to where you are playing about as good as you are going to, your preferences are likely to stay more or less the same (but even then you still might discover a hidden gem of a cue maker out there whose cues you had never tried before and that are even better for you than what you already thought was as good as it gets).

Thank you Smokey...you always make me blush!

All the best to you to, sir.

Sorry to repeat but I believe Arnot is farming his cues.....or has someone doing his work.

Ive done some research and all I hear is " arnot started to so some strange things." I personally Have know idea what the truth is about the subject but I decided awhile ago to veer away from arnot... Just to be safe

By the way I decided to do a bright blood wood possibly curly blood wood merry widow with a Figured birds eye grip area  Should be show worthy and basic but not to flashy... It should be able to turn heads when I pull it out of my case tho :D
