JOSS cue extension

I just saw joss has a screw in extension available for sale https://josscues.com/cues/joss-cue-extension/.

Has anyone tried this? How does it work? The images are pretty useless - seems like you need to remove the bumper permanently unlike the McDermott extension that supplies a replacement bumper (http://www.mcdermottcue.com/pool-cue-extension.php).

Also I'm guessing this fits the J-line cues from OB (https://www.obcues.com/products/OB-Pool-Cue-Model-308-J%2dLine-6-Point-Ebony-and-Curly-Maple.html) appreciate any thoughts on that as well.

Yes the bumper needs to be removed. There are 3 types of bumpers i know of and an extension is available for two of them. Screw on and push on bumpers which is a different extension for each type. If you have an older Joss that has a screw in the bumper neither extension will work.

Permanently remove the bumper?

In the case of the screw in bumper, it just unscrews. It's as easy as removing a joint protector.

In the case of a push in bumper, just pull it out.

What could be easier?

And it is far from permanent....

Screwing the extension in through a hole in the center of the bumper.

JC

LOL!

I meant to say "What could be easier to understand?"

Obviously, removing the bumper isn't permanent.

If that's too difficult then I wonder how one manages to put together a two piece cue.:grin::grin-square::wink:

I wonder if it was designed to be a "permanent" extension, where you just leave it on during play.

Yeah, thats what it looks like.

I don't want it on all the time, I also don't want to have to unscrew a bumper and screw this in when i need an extension. Seems like the only way is to leave the bumper off - which means I'm going to ruin my cue in a fit of anger some time.

I don't want to unscrew the bumper every time I need to use an extension. Seems like a reasonable issue to have with this?

Mcdermott does make one that screws in through a hole in the bumper!

they all go into the center hole of the proper bumper and are easily attached and removed.
