are joss cues made in u.s.? local cuemaker told me most of the cue is made in taiwan, shipped here where wraps, tips are finished.
 
believe they make them here.

According to their website they make them here as well.

sounds like the local cuemaker is trying to make a sale.....BTW, I've heard both makers and dealers telling unknowing potential buyers that cheaper priced McDermotts, Vikings, Josses, etc. were all made overseas when trying to sell a "custom" either sneaky or plain jane. sad really :( . They could just try to sell them on customizability (and the ease of it if local), quality, playability, etc., but instead they tell a potential buyer that all Big Name production cues in his/her price-range are made in China, Taiwan, etc. :rolleyes:
 
I believe they are, but not positive.

The best question is are they made and assembled here? Quite a few things are made overseas and then assembled here with a Made in the USA tag stuck on it
 
there is a lowend series of McDermott's made overseas......everything else including joss/mcdermot/viking etc is made in the USA

but it's not called McDermott. Their overseas cues are Star, and an even lower line carries the Lucky name on it (both are meant to compete with cues along the lines of Players); they are built to McDermotts specs (is the claim). The funny thing is you can get a low end (MADE IN THE USA) McDermott for a lower price than some of the Star line of cues....???

I am pretty sure Joss cues are made in the USA. I have spoke with Dan Janes a couple times as I have had a few Joss cues in the past. Far as Mcdermott goes I have seen several league players in my area buy them recently and within a few months EVERY shaft has warped.
 
Believe me, unlike many other brands, Joss cues are made right here in the good ole USA!

Dan makes our cues for us, and I can assure you, they are made in the USA!

I have heard slanderous stories like this about almost every production cue, even Schon. None of which are true to my knowledge. I know a couple of companys make a line over there, but I don't know of anyone who has the cue made over there and assembles it here. Butterflycues
