what does everyone think of Joss Cues? anybody play with one? seems the prices arent too bad.

Good as anything.
The thing that may be important to know is the Joss standard tip is 13.25 diameter, making it a, relatively, stiff hitter.
Most Schons are 13.
Meucci and Predator are 12.75 (The mooch is a softer hit and the Pred is farily stiff - both due to taper and construction differences).
I believe you can get used to anything (adapt), but I never cared for the smaller diameters - they just don't feel "right" laying in my bridge fingers.

I play with a Joss. It plays real well. The shaft's kinda whippy, in my opinion, but it has zero deflection. I highly recommend them - only around $300 for a great hit.
I have a Joss that I love. I don't think the shaft is whippy at all, the whole cue feels very stiff and solid. The Joss with the stock Triangle tip is very good at communicating the hit you get on the cueball; usually I can gauge where my game is at based on the feedback I am getting. Highly recommended.
Also, Josses can have two different shafts, one of which has the joint threads in made of brass, and the other of a plastic or wood. I have the latter type, and prefer the hit (there is a big difference). I am not sure if these shaft differences are an option or whether Joss switched from one kind to the other.

It has a great feel when you're shooting, though, and I agree that the tip is great, too; however, I suggest you try a Moori if you can.
Also, my Joss has a stainless steel joint. Works great for me. They make a beautiful cue.
so where is the best place to get a Joss Cue? and are all of them 13.25 mm? i guess i can have someone turn it down for me, i prefer between 12.75 and 13mm.

They make 13mm. That's what I have. I don't think that they go lower than that, though.. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Joss makes a very high quality cue that has a very distinctive hit. I personally feel it hits too hard for my tastes, but that is just me. As far as looks go I feel Schon has much better looking cues from top to bottom in the line.
