Ask about the Joss warranty too.
Last I heard if you chalk the cue it voids any warranty.
Read the warranty carefully ~

If i were you I wouldn't buy a Joss cue.

That's not what it says at all. It states that if you chalk the cue you are accepting the terms of the warranty and the cue in the condition it was sent to you:

All Joss Cues® leave the shop straight and in new condition. When you receive or buy your cue, inspect it thoroughly. If you chalk and use your Joss Cues®, this is a sign of acceptance of the cue in the condition in which it was received.

Am i the only one, who is wondering how you can order a custom cue in a 3 week dead line?
they have ones, that are almost finished? 5 to 6 months i get. Which is standard in my experience.

Joss always has cues that they've made that you can simply go online and order. I think people call it Inventory. They are still a custom cue because Joss made them like they do all their cues.

Wonderful clarification, thank you.
My reading comprehension is in all likelihood well
below the national average, considering I'm from Alabama.

We really need to talk. This is "custom"? I hate to tell you but you need to make a big 180. "Custom" is NOT MAKING "them like they do all their cues". I really dislike delving into folk's capabilities, so let me just put it this way, "Are you sure you are old enough to be posting on AZB?"

Don't give up the ship! I'm from Mississippi. It's more about how far we go than where we are from. Life should be a course of life-long learning.

For "most everyone's" information. A company's written warranties/contracts are important, but they must provide the protection required by both state and federal laws. The companies can provide more protection than the law requires but they cannot provide less. The UCC (Uniform Commercial Code) which has been adopted by most states is important in this connection. It controls, in addition to many, many, other matters, what/when/how, etc., warranties are made. It even provides for "revoking acceptance" and returning previously accepted (used) goods -- so "acceptance" may not be the end of one's inquiry. This stuff should be taught in high school, in addition to credit/banking, child support, and all the other stuff we should not have to learn about the hard way.

Love the hit of a Joss.
Chalked, unchalked, doesn't matter.
It's a cue stick.
Warranty on a cue stick?
WGAF?

Some folks, like yourself, don't think some Joss cues are custom cues.

I guess what difference does it make if Joss makes a cue that you like and you buy it. As opposed to telling them exactly what you want, they make it, and you buy it.

Splitting hairs here.

Amen to this.

So many people attacking others. Trashing and bashing others. Sometimes I wonder why the moderators just don't step in and put a stop to it all. If it takes banning 100 people so be it.

Hey Biloxi Boy, I read most everything you comment on, hope you are well.

I've had three "warranty" experiences in my life. One with a McDermott E-B6, and two dealings with Pechauer.
One of the issues with Pechauer I posted about it on this forum a few years back, it would be easy to search it here.
Excellent customer service.

The McD was the E-B6 that I bought used in about 2005. Guy I bought it from said it was about ten years old.
I called Jayme in about 2010 and told him the butt cap was cracked, he said send it in. Within two weeks I had what
looked like a brand new E-B6.

Back to Joss, a friend had bought one from an authorized dealer about 20 years ago then had a warpage issue within a couple months.
When he called about it they said if it has been chalked warranty was voided. None of his other cues had a warpage issue.
So, I no longer own the Pechauer but I do have three McD's, a D-4, E-B5 and E-B11.
Also I still have my trusty 2001 Rick Howard that I bought from 'Rigmaster' on this forum.
None are warped or abused and all shoot better than my 71 year old eyes, nor am I concerned with any warpage, they're all straight.

DJKeys and philly, I certainly value y'all's input, it does my soul good.
Y'all take care now, ya hear me?

You finalized a cue? Assume that means he is starting the cuemaking process for you, correct?

And I am sorry. Plus I hate to tell you this. But I did ask him in my last email if he could make me a cue from Ebony and Bone. So, if he is able to, that means your cue will have to wait while he makes mine. You don't mind waiting an extra 6 months to a year, do you?

😆😆😆
I don't know if your second paragraph is serious or not, but a cue maker is certainly capable of making more than one cue at a time. They frequently work in batches and have several cues in the works at a time.

Don't be obtuse. Custom vs. Production is not that difficult a distinction, but it is an important one. Most of Joss's cues are not custom but are, rather, "production".

"In construction, "custom" refers to projects designed and built to meet the specific needs and preferences of an individual client, rather than using standardized plans or designs. This approach allows for greater personalization and flexibility in the final product, whether it's a home, building, or other structure." Google AI

"Speculative construction, also known as speculative development or spec building, refers to the practice of constructing buildings (residential or commercial) with the expectation of future sale or lease, without a pre-existing tenant or buyer in place. Developers invest in land and construction based on their belief that the market will demand the type of space being built. This approach involves a higher degree of risk compared to build-to-suit development, where a tenant is already secured." Google AI

guys that only make a very limited amount of cues likely get to age their wood for a long time. and choose the best pieces that fit your order.

production cues use whatever the guy on the lath grabs and goes from there. not to say they must be bad but certainly have a different lineage.
