Am i missing something? Joss east seems to get a bad rap. Are they not worth the Money? I was thinking of getting one because they fit my budget and are not imported?

Following up from your thread in the Main Forum...no, they don't have a bad rap. I don't know who you are talking to, but obviously snobs.

I own a lot of cues and have been playing for 40 years. My collector cues are Scruggs..Phillippi..Black Boar and an old Helmstetter....who can say which one of those is the best hitting cue? I bought them for a collection. The cue i take to my "B" rated tournament is a Bludworth (my favorite). Friday night bar tournament I take my Players cue. Quite honestly the way I have my players set up it play's amazing (Phillippi Shaft w Kamui soft tip) if you really like your cue and it play's good for you...who care's what other's think? $50 or $5000 dollars if you like it...use it.

In spite of what I have said about Joss cues in the past, they do sponsor quite a nice tournament tour in the Joss Tour stops and couldn't have a nicer person face to face with the players, than Mike Zuglan.

No joss east

there is no such thing as a joss east. there are " JOSS " and " JOSS WEST "

they are great cues, i played with one for years. i still love them. what ever you heard is bs or someone selling something else

I think the "Bad rap" Joss gets is this; "Joss makes good cues, But they aint nowhere near as good as a Joss West" which is basically true. But if you look at it from a value received per dollar spent perspective, Joss may well be the better bargain..

The only thing I hear is that Joss doesn't have a warranty against warping, which Players, Pechauer, and McDermott has. There are probably others, I don't know who else may have one. I'm also not sure if Schon has one too, but I think there are more manufacturers without warranty than with. I'm also not sure what custom cuemakers offer, as I would speculate it is dependent on the maker.

joss cues are GREAT production cues for sure and great cues in general
think about it bill stroud/josswest tim scruggs/scruggs cues all started there

I think Joss [east] has been making cues longer than anyone in the country.
sween
They are one of the oldest, but not the oldest. Schmelke is the oldest continual maker of cues here in the USA as far as I know.
Joss makes a great cue.
