Joss Mosconi Raffle Underway!

Apologies to everyone on this one. I dropped the ball.:embarrassed2:

My fiancé's bridal shower was Saturday and that sort of messed up the weekend a bit for me.

If I am not mistaken, the next drawing is on Wednesday. The drawing will be held then. (if it is another earlier one, let me know and I'll go with that one).

Again, sorry for the delay. I should have done the drawing this weekend...

Once we have a winner, the cue will ship as soon as the spots are paid!

Thanks to everyone for their exceptional patience on this one. It figures my first raffle will be the most epic length raffle ever on AZ...:rolleyes:
 
Just my oppinion, but I wouldnt set a draw date until everyone has paid....Not saying everyone wont pay,but you never know...
 
I sent a PM regarding this same thought before the raffle was filled. It just makes sense to wait till everyone is paid. Granted, it's only 12 bucks a spot, but my question is, what happens if 2 people decide to not pay once they know they lost and they have 6 spots total between them? Does the person running the raffle eat the money or does the winner? How long do we wait for someone to pay that already knows they lost? There are so many open ended possibilities doing it this way imo.

It's hard to get someone to pay for a losing lottery ticket!

My original post stated that I would draw after filling and ship after all payments are in.

But your point that who wants to pay for a loosing lottery ticket is a valid one...

Hopefully, we will be all paid up by Wednesday, and can finish this off. Right now, I am not sure what to do...:confused:
 
My advice would be to contact via PM everyone who is on the list that has not paid yet and let them know you are waiting for payment now that the raffle is full. I would wait till the raffle is completely paid up and then announce a draw date after last payment came in. It is going to take WAY longer to wait for people to pay after they know they already lost than it will take for them to pay thinking they can still win something.

It's your raffle though, you can run it however you would like, but I would be curious what your plan would be about the people that just drop out and don't pay after a winner is determined. How long would the winner have to wait for people to pay? Six weeks? Six months? Forever, they never get the cue cause one person didn't pay?

If people decide to back out or don't respond to the payment request (after a set amount of time), just open up their spots again for other people to take. The sticky in this raffle section in "how to run a smooth raffle" thread clearly states you do not own a spot until it is PAID for! This way if you have people that don't pay it doesn't screw up your getting your money or the winner getting the cue, it just means you need to find a few more people to fill up the now empty spots and pay for them before you do the raffle.

This is just my advice, I'm trying to be helpful and hope you don't read it like I'm being pushy at all.
 
No that is fine, and actually what I had in mind to do.

I am glad someone participating in the raffle feels this is the way to handle it, so it does not look so much like I am changing the game at the end...

So, PM's will be going out now. Maybe we can still pull this Wednesday!

I have the cue with me at work and will be boxing it up ready to ship when the drawing is done. If the drawing is done Saturday, it will ship on Monday by the way... Apologies in advance if that delay is inconvenient; however I have WAY too much going on over the wekends these days.
 
This raffle has been going on for 5 months, I'm sure waiting 2 days before you can ship the cue won't be a problem for anyone!

I just got a slap on the wrist from the mega-giant on line payment people...

No more mentioning their name! Apparently they have moral issues with the use of their name in connection with any sort of 'gambling'; however they have no moral issue skimming 3% off the top of everything as we aall know...:rolleyes:

Please check your posts to see if you used their name in vain in this thread (I cleaned up all that I could). My account is currently locked up over this...:angry:
 
That stinks! You have to be real careful when sending any payment, never mention the word raffle or put your numbers in the comment section, just put your AZ name.

Knowing "them", you can probably still receive payments though, so hopefully this won't delay the raffle.

I got a notice this morning that my request for account activation has been denied!:angry:

There is ONE POST in here that I could not edit (it was not my post) so I sent a PM to the person who made the post to please edit it out.

According to 'them' I can still receive payments etc. but I cannot close my account. Weird...

Anyway, please be careful if you run or are involved with any raffles to NEVER MENTION 'them'.

Also, it's a big no-no to put your email address in the post, cause then they know who you are, always use PMs.
