listen i was given this cue a long time ago. its an early 80's edition joss cue and marked on it it has nick varner world champion, i asked a couple guys here locally and one guy couldn't find anything on it, the other guy wanted to give me his kidney...lol so im a little concerned both would have shafted me on the cue if given the chance. i asked my local apa leader about it, and was told by her assistant that it was worth a good amount of money to the right person....im just looking to find out what its worth and sell it....any info is welcomed...thanks

You need to post photos/specs. Can't really give you a value without seeing pix. Nick Varner Joss cues (collar should read something like "Nick Varner---World Champion) from the 80s with CNC (rounded) points are not all that rare or valuable...maybe $350-700, depending on the cue and condition. However, without being able to see pix, etc, there is just no way to know.

It is important that you understand that these were a series of cues made for sale by Joss. They were not personal playing cues built for Nick Varner.

Here is one of my old examples....

thanks for the reply, i will get pics up as soon as the wife gets home with my camera....as for where it has nick varner, its not on the rings themselves, but its almost marked just inside of the points, in the wood itself, looks like it was manufactured, not signed. i would appreciate if ya look at the pics in a couple hours and let me know, you seem to have the most knowledge about this cue so far and ya haven't even seen it yet... thanks for the info

I think its from the Professional Series, late 80's. Question of value, do you have the original shaft with JOSS on the collar & and do the logos line up when it is screwed together? That makes a big difference. Looks like it has been taken care of.

I really like those old Joss cues. Like old Schons I find them hard to resist  If it has 2 original shafts with joint collars matching the butt of the cue I would seriously be iinterested. As to value, hard to tell going by the amount of super nice new cues available here right now that all go at rather tempting prices compared to when the market was different.

As you wrote yourself, for the right buyer maybe quite a bit of money worth since they are not that easy to find anymore, particular in excellent condition and with original shafts.

Good luck with the sale!

i have both shafts that came with it, neither one has joss on the joint ring, i used one and the other has never been touched by me, im gonna take the cue to a friend who is a photographer and get him to take some better pics, my camera just gets fuzzy when ya get to close, but thanks for the comments and the info,
