This weekend....Joss Tournament at the Golden Cue in Albany NY.... This is going to be a $3,000.00 added tournament. Will be alot of strong players as always and the Spinelli family always puts on a good feed for players and spectators to buy. Old style pool hall (has not been changed in over 40 years) with Brunswick Gold Crown 2 tables i believe. keith Mccready is a 2 time winner here as well as Ginky and a host of others. This is the room where it all started for Mike Zuglan. This is/was Mike's home room before opening his own room. So please come, (no spectator fee) watch, eat and have some fun. You may even win a beautiful Joss cue if you enter the raffle...hopefully Karen Corr and Julie Kelly will be coming. Will update tomorrow if they are coming..................mike

Is Sly still working behind the counter at Golden Cue?

Sly....don't know a Sly... Don't think i can recall a Sly ever working there.. There use to be Mike Maimone and bruce baily. And now Brian works behind the counter when the owner Rocco or his brother Benny is not working....Nope...no Sly to the best of my recollection...........mike

Gotta give this a bump for a great tournament site...if you come. Just ask Rocky (the owner) where the pool detective is...thats me. that is my pet name there. otherwise just ask who mike peabody is............mike

Hi Mike,

I'm planning to attend this weekend. Rocco and his family run one nice room. Will be great to see you!

I hope to be there, but am currently sick, so I go depending on how well I get.

Last time I was at the Golden Cue was around 10-13 years ago. I think that was when sly was working behind the counter

Good luck to Dave Pinkston on defending his title there,he went undefeated last year,so watch out guys.:D

Dave Pinkston got handed his first loss in his match with Dennis Hatch after being on Hill-Hill and making the 9 on a carom off the 8, but also scratching in the process. His second elimination was handed to him by Frank 'Cheech' Sorriento, 9-7. Cheech ended up playing until about 1:15AM and ended up in 9-12 place, and aside from eliminating Pinkston, he also eliminated Basavich. A surprising player at the tour stop is Tim Parisian, who handed a loss to Dennis Hatch.
