Joss Tour?

So far, the 2005-2006 Joss Northeast 9-Ball Tour has held 17 regular season events over the last nine months and averaged about 40 players per event while paying out close to $100,000 in prize money.jjinfla said:

The recently announced Turning Stone Casino Classic VII will be held this coming August 17 thru 21, 2006 in Verona, NY.

I don't know the reason for your asking but this subject has been debated (in my own opinion) to death. The reason it was debated in the past so much is because some people had an axe to grind with Mike Zuglan over the taking of some money out. It is apparent and true that a certain percentage is taken out and is split between the room owner and Mike Zuglan. It used to go to the tournament director as his pay for the weekend for running the tournament. I firmly believe, after attending as many Joss Tournaments as i have, that it is not unreasonable. You can ask Joe Tucker how much work was involved when he ran Mike's tour as director for 1 year. It is alot of work and stress. Especially working with so many different personalities. Last week at the Golden Cue in Albany NY we had 48 players show for the tournament. We were expecting more but then we heard that their was a tournament in NYC so that kept alot of the normal NYC players away and then their was a planet pool going on in Virginia that kept Ryan McCreesh and maybe Mike Davis away. I don't know if their was a Blaze stop last weekend. But any question you might have can be answered by Mike Zuglan directly. All you have to do is call him and ask. His pool room number is 518-355-9811.............mike

He forfeited one of the room owners out of a match for being late. The payouts are excellent. Never forces players to hang around an extra day if they aren't in the money. Minimum payout is your entry fee. Most events are $100. The $5000 added events are $125. The finals are $150 for the regulars and $200 for "non members".
Entries are down from a few years ago. Based on the economy here in the Northeast, he's doing great! If you want to see how a great event is done, please join us in August at the Turning Stone Casino and Resort. You'll see lots of AZ'ers there.

No ulterior motive, Joss tour was featured on the home page and it just looked like their payouts were pretty good.
Besides being out of my driving range the players are way to good for me to enter. I would have zero chance of coming in the money. LOL.
It still baffles me how a TD can make money running a tournament. But God bless them if they can. 16+ hour days with constant complaints is not my cup of tea.
