I am just starting the process of selling this Joss West Cue from 1980 (of course, hand made my Bill Stroud). Not sure where to start or how much to ask. I guess I'm mainly looking for advice from other Billiards folks that can appreciate something unique and beautiful when you see it!

vickie be careful when getting offers to buy and value
many here are honorable and will give you good advice
some will try to low ball you an offer
and some are scammers
you need to weigh the butt and give weight in ounces and size
measure the shafts in millimeters
and say whether everything is straight or not
it there is a "wobble" when you roll the shafts if its slight many call that a taper roll

bill's stuff is collectable and playable. this one is very basic so few collectors that pay top dollar will be interested.
you need to find comparable sales and listings to get a rough idea then decide if the offers if any are okay with you or you would rather sit on it.
my guess for what it is worth is 1500 to 2000. i am not interested in buying it for any price but good luck.
sold new in the range of 250 to 300 depending on who your were, if bought from him. much less or free if a top player friend.
dont know what third party sellers charged.

This stick is like MAGIC! Just to shoot with it automatically improves your game immensely!
I have a brochure of these cues and yours is a little different as it has points from a number 6 and a butt from a number 4 of course he didn't always go by the brochure either. At that time the number 6 sold for $405 and the number 4 was $350.
Id probably offer 1200 and go as high as $1,500 if straight, but I don't NEED the cue. Somebody will want it and hopefully you get a good price. I haven't priced JW cues in years, so I could be off
what? I agreed with you. Maybe I have no credibility. Pretty sure I said what I'D pay for it along with the caveat that I don't NEED the cue. Your assessment seemed 100% spot on. Not sure what your problem is
