i was going to the BCA thing but i come out cheaper going to this event plus a better chance of making good money one day rather than two day event.I have been screwed out money before playing league.

The only ones getting screwed was the people you lied too! Won't happen again!

"screwed out of money"? What does playing league and the state tournament have to do with each other?

If you're playing league to "make good money", you're not the sharpest knife in the drawer.

Not this year

I have always been able to overcome scheduling conflicts, but when someone confirms they will be there and then disappears without a call, they're not at home, and does not return calls. They are quitting the team.

Don't start spewing this BS. Now I give you another chance and you do the exact same thing again. Fortunately this time, I had a back up plan. You missed out on a great tournament and time!

It doesn't matter to me what happened and I didn't really want to know.

It's just that so many people badmouth the BCA, APA, TAP, Valley because of a bad experience. They won't go to the tournament due to this when the two events are unrelated.

What are leagues for? Learning to play, getting out of the house, filling your pool room with trophies (If your league awards them), playing with the same group of people so you can field a team that everyone is comfortable with, etc., etc., etc.....the list of reasons is endless.

What leagues are NOT for is making money....usually

When you add up the time spent, the money spent on dues, drinks, food, etc., etc.....unless you place 1st or 2nd or you have a real generous league operator you don't even break even.

Your comment about making big money just struck a nerve since I hear it so often.
