Juma joint

I like the looks of a juma joint but like my cues to hit on the firm side. If I built a cue with a juma joint could I still get a firm hit with a harder ferrule and tip? How much would the Juma joint soften a harder tip/ferrule combo. How does Juma hold up while breaking? I know there are other white materials but like the off white of the juma.

Thanks,

Eric

I use alot of elforyn joints in my cues. A juma joint would give a very similar hit IMO. The hit will be softer than a steel, ivory, or ivorine 4 joint, all other things being equal. Changing to a harder ferrule and/or tip will change the whole dynamics.Given that you are changing 3 different factors of the cue, the simple advise is to find something similar in a pool room and give it a test run.

Maybe this helped,
Alan
