Just wondering how the hit compares between the two.
I'm not thinking of getting ivory, it's just what I played with.
And should the length be??? The same as ivory?

I'm replacing 3 ferrules on my cut back shafts. Tomorrow.

Juma hits softer than ivory. some type of melamine like Ivorine4 is pretty hard and closer to ivory in hit.

Juma White Linen is not a thing.
Juma is quite a bit softer than ivory. You may or may not notice a slightly different sound and/or feel.

A thing?
Hitting softer is good info. Length of it would also be good information. Do pros use this material on their wood shafts?

Juma is a thermoset plastic not linen, so adding that to the name of it is confusing.
Standard ferrules are 1" long.
Shorter ferrules are trending, since they add to lower deflection properties.
Pros will use whatever they get from their sponsors.
Juma has been discussed quite a bit on the forums, you could search for older threads.

Thx Sheldon..... my installer used the word linen in his Juma wording, I'm just repeating his text.

Nothing hits just like Ivory that I have found. I personally never thought Ivory hit all that great, but it sure does look nice and stay clean better than all the rest.

I'm not a Cue-Maker, so take this with a grain of salt. If it is an ivory look that you are going for, I would probably recommend Elforyn Super Tusk. Saber-T might also be an alternative to consider for the "hit."
Good luck with your project.

If he used that wordage....may not be the guy for you. Juma has no linen, nor any relation to linen. Wish yo well on the project.

Ivory is an old school hit, most of those cue makers also made heavier cues. Ivory hits like nothing else , however shooting with ivory , has a learning curve and take away from your game, if you don't normally shoot with ivory.

Zsamboti cues most were 20 -21 oz or better ivory ferrules 13mm shafts. If you shoot with the same cue eventually you figure it out and make it work
It sounds like juma will work just fine for you

Thx Slim.....
In 1976 ordered a new Zamboti when I moved to the west coast.

Received it I think summer of 78.
60'' 3 shafts/ivory/leather wrap.... and he windowed the handle end. Shafts 13mm/standard.
I hated the longer shafts, had Stroud cut em back 2'' and reuse the ferrules.
I called Billy before I ordered the cue this length to make sure he could do this ferrule swap, to save me $$.

So my thinking, I don't want to spend $500 on 1 shaft. I always pack 3 shafts.

I have 3 great 40 yr old Kikel shafts that are worn down, diameter too small, cue now whippy.
But.... I've found, that cutting these shafts back, and inserting my 5 inch extension between the handle and the shaft, this cue is stiff. And has allot more forward weight because of the midsection coupler.

So I'll see how these Jumas preform, to avoid CF cues.
I think it will.
I cut back one and played with it for a year, cheap ferrule, no tenon, the shaft stiffness has cracking the short wrap around ferrule.
