Jump/Break under $200

I am looking for a jump break cue for under $200. I don't want a Cutec and the only cue under 140 I am considering is a J&J. I am waffling on whether to spend the extra $100+ over what the J&J ones sell for. If I could get a measurably better cue I would do it. I am leaning towards a Fury, and could be talked into a Poison, Sniper II, McD Stinger, or even one of the cheaper Lucasi's, but are anyone of them really that good? If not Id rather get the J&J off ebay (anyone know why they are so much cheaper on Ebay - there can't be any money in conterfeiting $75 cues can there?), and buy a Gulyassy in a few years.

So what's the prevailing wisdom? Get a good cue for $150-200 or put the extra $100 in the custom playing cue savings account. After all I've only owned 1 cue other than my first players and its a Predator P2 with a leather grip. If the extra $100 isn't gonna get me much difference, I'd like to add a 2nd playing cue since it would take my game further (middle of the pack BCA open B player for reference) especially being 6'5" I might try a longer cue or 30" shaft. But if 150-200 jump break cue will make a difference which one is the best bet?

J/B cue under$200

the newest players from cuestix is pretty good. have your cue guy grind off the phenolic tip and put on a hard lthr. one. bout 130 or 140 total cost.

Not really a fan of the Players cues, Id rather go with a J&J if I am getting a cheaply built cue and save the most money.

I emailed the Western BCA president and asked if phenolic tips were illegal at the regional tournament and he replied "Phenolic tips were legal". This suprised me to the point I am thinking it was a typo. I have a regional tournament in Lincoln City in a month and I could always have the tip flattened and add a hard tip there, but Id like the 3 weeks of breaking it in. Anyone in the Northwest know for sure, and have their 2 cents on which break cue you'd get for the money?

I don't know what to say. You can lean towards many directions with this. Saving for a custom cue is the way to go, but not if you don't own a decent breaker. A custom cue will give you the specs you need, so don't get me wrong. I don't play Predator since I had bad experiences from it. But down here some pro's still use the P2, so from a performance point of view, there's nothing "major" you will be gaining by buying a new playing cue.
I have owned a fury, good quality for the money. But with the near 100 bucks, I'd go for the Poison, the phenolic tip (brown canvas) break and jumps about equally hard as the BK2 (BK2 is just somewhat more precise). And if you need to swap to a leather tip, you don't have a 1-piece ferrule that needs to be sawed off. And most people aren't too keen on the VX (poison) colors, but there's an all new serie out recently of VX's and it has a black and grey one. That would be my choice for the money.

I have just bought a new poison jump/break around $200 delivered. It breaks nice - I didnt want to have to carry 2 sticks . I have a friend that
has a new predator breaker - the predator does break a little better its also over twice the cost and its not a jump/break combo ...

I'd just stick with your P2. if you insist on a longer cue i'd go with a custom maker that specializes in longer cues
