Jump cues
When I first started using a jump cue, I was convinced that the jump portion of a break/jump cue could not be as good as just a specially made jump cue was. I have since changed my mind about that.
I am one that will put away a jump cue sometimes to opt for a kick if I think it will yield a better result in the game for myself. I have made kicks from locked up safeties that have gotten me many compliments, so I am not afraid of the 2-3-4-5 rail kicks.
I have tried a few jumpers along the way, primarily the Bunjee, Jacoby, and others. Originally I had an original Frog jumper, then went to a Scorpion jumper, and now use a J&J Break/jump cue, and have absolutely no regrets.
The convenience that Break/jump presents, especially with the quick release joints, makes it easy to use, besides being good as a jumper with the phenolic ferrule/tip it has.
The only thing I see that might be better is the X-Breaker because of its patent tip which is harder than phenolic, but I have to save some pennies before I get one.
Don't get me wrong though, there are some cuemakers out there that make very good Break/jump cues, it is just that I am not familiar with their work.
