What is a good jump cue to use, anybody have one you think is the best ? thanks

Jump Cue

Lucasi makes a good jump cue and for the money it is hard to beat. For jump/break cues I would have to go with a Gilbert hands down as they are the best on the market IMHO.

Ezell makes a very nice jump/break cue. However, he doesn't have a website I believe and he's a local in Mississippi. Very nice and unique jump/break cues he does.

I have to voite for Gilbert's Jump/Break as well. The best thing about it is that it plays as well as it jumps and breaks!

Get a Jump Cue, a tool made for a specified task.

An adjustable wrench is great to have in the kitchen drawer, but a real set of tools is necessary to work on something special.

John Parker of Auerbachcustomcues.com makes a great Jump Cue, it's made to jump balls & allow you some control doing it.

thank you folks for the help....I think I'm going with the Bungee, now I just have to learn how to use it.

There is an ebay seller, carlscues, who sells a no-name brand jumper, usually $35-50 for a plain one. It has the phenolic tip, short ferrule...I got one and can do all that whacky sh!t w/ it. Best value, IMO.

I've tried the others, and the Sledgehammer is the best, but for a jump cue- go w/ the 85% lower cost- the SHammer is overkill.

i have a Lucasi jump cue, it works fine, is very light which is the key to a jump cue.

the jump cue that Dr. Cue Tom Rossman used to win the 2002 ESPN Trick Shot Challenge is also a dandy. he let me use it when he came down over the holidays. not sure, but i think its a "Jump Daddy" or something like that, made by a guy named Peterson i believe.

I agree with piglit on this. I have one of his ($35-$40) also and can do everything anybody else can, without the expenxive price tag. Plus, mine was free shipping!

I've used three different jump break cues before. I currently use a Rick Howard Mace JB and I like it a lot. My buddy has a Gilbert JB and its very nicely made and finished. The Gilbert's "hit" on the break is noticibly softer than my Mace to me. Also, Gilbert uses a full screw in the butt to forearm joint which is a bit of pain compared to the quick release on the Mace. I've also tried a Sledgehammer and it is very comparable to the Mace.

The biggest difference is in workmanship and guarantee. The Bunjee is guaranteed to be to your satisfaction and the knockoffs can be anywhere from very good to very badly made with no kind of guarantee.

I have seen them all. The original Bunjee still provides the best performance/price balance.

Does anybody know if the jump cues are allowed in the US Open?

Doug

They generally decide it at the player's meeting. I don't know why. Why not just use the WPA rules?

Anyway, jump cues were allowed in the 2002 and 2003 US Open Tournaments.

The Bunjee Jumper was very instrumental in helping several players win their matches. If you catch the match with Fabio Petroni vs. Strickland you will see a few nice jump shots using the Bunjee.
