Jump Cue

Advice on what jump cue to get? I want one with a phenolic tip but other than that I have no preferences. I think I also prefer jump cues long than most people, but I'm not sure because I've never used a proper jump cue before. I've jumped before but not with a specially made jump cue. Tell me what you like, why, where to buy, etc. Thank you.

I thave tried them all and to me Jacoby has the best one out there. Trust me it works on all tables even bar boxes with the heavy ball. Tell him Doug with the Stroketrainer sent you.

I was happy with my break cue so I decided on a jump cue vs. a break/jump cue. I went with the predator air, I just liked the feel, its very light and the 2 piece handle is nice for longer jumps. It works well for me, if you search youtube there are a lot of videos of people jumping with them. If I was going with a break jump I have heard only good things about stingers but i have never used one.

I have the Predator Air but another very nice jump cue is the Stealth AT-1 with a White Diamond tip.

Stealth

Stealth AT1 it is reasonable, works excellent and has the two peice handle. You wont believe how light the handle is. Last year at the APA nationals I tried them all and the stealth outperformed them all. Predator has some excellent marketing that would make you think the stick puts balls in for you but it did not out perform the stealth. Predator did have the two peice handle and I liked that for going between short jumps and long jumps.

I have owned both and they are both excellent jump cues.

I was going to get a BK2 and I wouldn't really want to buy a stinger just for the jump section. How does the stinger break in comparison to the BK2?

There is a new version of the Stinger out, I have not used it.

The original Stinger is my favorite of all the Break cues because it is so easy to control the cue ball and you still get maximum spread. Some people don't like the shaft taper, but it is designed that way for maximum performance and is easy to get used to.

Also check out a Mace J/B by Rick Howard. It is another one that allows for easy control of the cue ball. Even when blasting away.

Hope this helps

Which was the Stinger you liked and used? Because I was hoping to purchase only from Seyberts as shipping is so much to the UK. Was it one of these? http://www.seyberts.com/catalog/Jump_Break_Cues-332-1.html

I think I will be going for either a Stealth AT-1 with a BK2 or a Stinger. Although has anyone seen the Deuce jump cue? Here it is: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=s-7nCs3PXKI Does anyone know how it performs? Thanks

i have both the air and the stealth, the stealth has a white diamond on it. both are pretty good, but i like the stealth. i felt the air's handle was too thin for me and it was a bit too light. also i didn't like the finish on the shaft, which got sticky quickly. the stealth when modified with a white diamond tip, jumps just as well as the air, without all the aforementioned issues. for a break cue, i've never used a better one than the BK2. BK2 + stealth will be a very nice combination indeed

I have seen numerous post about jump cues.I know there are alot of production cue but for the $ i can say that a lomax is the top of the food chain on the jump cues.I have one and want sell it and here are a few as of right now that also use them larry nevel, stevie moore, monica webb, helena thornfelt, louis ulrich, shannon daulton, landon shuffett, etc. so this has got to put them in a very good limelight.
Thanks shane

Well I am in no way an expert and rarely have the opportunity to use my jump cue. But my Varney J/B cue does well. The first day I had it I missed a leave on the 8ball behind my opponents ball. I had 5-6 inches to clear it and it did no problem, close to making the shot too. Not bad for the 8ball being about 18 inches from the pocket.
