I suppose the "proof" is that jump cues should continue to be allowed is that they fit the legal requirements for what a pool cue is so why should they be banned? The sanctioning bodies would be required to write new rules that makes jump cues illegal. Shall we ban break cues next? What happens if I can jump with my break cue or God forbid my playing cue, what has been solved by banning jump cues??Jump cues shouldn’t be allowed…Prove me wrong

As long as ball in hand exists the jump cue is needed. The penalty is too great. It is not always a safety, often a player may miss and become the favorite.
When I began playing about 70 years ago we played pushout. We shot from behind the line on a scratch, balls spotted and so on.
The game as it is played today is a completely different game. The jump cue is now an intrigal part of it.
