Jump Cues

What is the most critical part of a jump cue? Given my
abilities why can I jump a ball easily with one jump cue
and not another? The shaft? The butt? The joint? Tip? If
it has a jump shaft can the butt or joint make such a
difference that I can't get the ball in the air? Has anyone
else had this experience?

Weight and tip are all that really matter in my opinion.

Weight, tip, taper, shaft stiffness and to a lesser extent balance point.

I love the Pechauer jump cues.

Take a serious look at them. You'll be jumping on to the next table if you don't watch it.

I have used Ivory for ferrules or phenolic. To me it's just about a solid hit with a hard tip and I have had several over the years but fell in love with my James Hanshew jumper.

I would think the shaft and tip but I have a jump cue butt that I have put three different shaft/tip combos on and all of them jump lights out even though on their respect original butts they are not that great.
